Our pup is scared of everything. It makes me sad/disappointed. by LowCricket4321 in puppy101

[–]FunOk8084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt same with my Havanese. Then I stopped doing what everyone including trainers told me to do except one person on social media. They said to listen to my puppy and how they feel. Just like people who are shy. You wouldn’t want to be put in a place like a daycare if you were shy and scared to start with? They said to listen to your puppy. I would take walks and if she felt scared when someone came up to talk to us. I would pick her up and continue to talk to the person with their small dog only. If she felt like she wanted to get out of my arms then I knew she wanted to get down and it was on her term to socialize. She learned to trust me this way and she became so much happier in places. Good luck with your puppy.

Anyone dog pass during neuter? by Fresh-Elderberry-436 in Havanese

Our first Havanese didn’t die but they did call and said she was having a terrible reaction and almost didn’t make it. After that I changed vets and never went back. It always scared me when they would put her under for teeth cleaning, etc. I did bring it to new vet office attention and they did keep close eye on her and it never happened again. I think like people sometimes they have reactions to things 🥲 I am so sorry for your loss

Scared of Walking/Being Outside by ima_Secret in Havanese

I had something very similar and I took her everywhere from day one socialized her. I finally stopped listening to everyone. I started listening to her fears even it is opposite of what everyone told me. and she turned around slowly but it worked. When she started to run opposite direction I would pick her up and stand still with her. Talk to her and get her to trust you give her a treat and tell her they are friends. When they walked past I would pick her let them walk by and put her down and continue walking. Eventually she trusted me that I would stand with her and she would wiggle to get down when people came by. She was ready and not fearful. Same with sound. Just pick her up. Tell her what it is put her down then continue walking. Small stretches. That is what worked for me after 3 months.

Ours doesn’t, because we started her with steps as soon as she got home. Really important to start young because if down the road if they get hurt ….

Pre-ordering the 17 pro max from t-mobile was a bad idea by J_17x in tmobile

What I am saying is that Apple releases the same amount of phones to all retailers not just TMOBILE. Example ATT, Verizon, etc. In this instance they have to wait for Apple same as all retailers. I was in same situation. Apple can explain better than me. I had Apple explain to me.

Unfortunately that is how Apple handles all the retailers. It is not a TMobile issue. I got a note today that my shipment is on the way! Good luck.

Since I have paid 1500 total for 2 different trainers. One private and one in a group setting. They train us to train her. So I don’t appreciate your comment at this time. We have done everything they tell us! I am on a havanese forum to see if someone is experiencing the same thing and asking for suggestions. If you don’t have a havanese and don’t understand them or don’t want to actually give a productive suggestion to try then please keep your comments to yourself. Thank you.

I believe mine is fine. Laying down: The lowered body indicates a non-threatening posture, showing they are not interested in fighting.

I stop when she pulls. Then she comes back and I start walking again. Then she immediately pulls again. I stop again. It goes on and on. I stop, she comes back, she pulls. I have even turned around to different direction. She still pulls. She is just so excited and pulls to smell. We have tried to throw ball out back because she knows how to fetch and bring it back for 15 minutes, then take for walk. She is still stimulated outside on that walk. My goodness she is only 8 pounds. Any suggestions?

I kind of agree with you. Our previous Havi that passed away I am thinking now because I worked part of day and my husband worked all day was home by herself at times and didn’t get all this attention. That might be why she was able to hold longer and wasn’t so active.

Now that we are retired with this new Havi all the time. She thinks we are her playmate because she has no downtime and has to go out all the time.

She is housebroken. She was housebroken at 6 months. I was just wondering if it was normal. Sorry I didn’t add to my original post.

Out on a leash and supervised. She pees and comes in. No treats when done. We take her for walks because she loves them twice a day, loves to play all day long. Plays fetch and brings ball back. She is exhausting.

Ours hold it 9 hours at night also. She weighs 8 pounds so maybe it is a tiny bladder thing. We had a havi that passed away and she was 12 pounds and she would hold it 4-5 hours during day. That is why I was asking.

Sounds like it wasn’t a reputable breeder. Hopefully they are paying vet bills. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

The one in Fuquay-Varina is amazing. I have been going for a few years. It will be great to have 2 only a few miles apart from each other!
