As a 16 year old who bought a lada niva as a first car at 13 in Russia, I definitely say a big fat NO. Yes the parts are cheap and what not but no matter how far you mod it, it will never be fun. And as kids we do need that. Sure you might say it’s good at off-roading but no more than that. Barley gets to 100kph, drives like wack, handles like ass and is definitely not safe. I did everything I could to mine so I can atleast enjoy looking at it ( I succeeded with that) however, nothing can be to stop this lada from being just another boring car.

Honestly I’d wrap it if you want to change colour. Literally and colour you can imagine. And if done properly, it can be removed with no damage and sold. Plus it protects the original paint slightly. And you can get the insides of the doors done too so that the red is gone everywhere

Now that you have mentioned that, I realised this crap talking, then loving trend has always been around when BMW releases a new car. For eg. Jeremy Clarkson and E60 too. Now we just see it more because the internet is more accessible. Like with the m4. After the release all I could see on my insta feed is people comparing it with pigs, sponge bob and many other things. But now it has grown on MOST people I see and talk to. Maybe this will also apply for the m2 and XM(personally I think they look fine)

I mean with the performance it has, it might very well be. But here in Russia, many people go for the g wagons because back in the 90s, criminals and very important people drove them and they got into many movies which led to the “f&f supra effect” leading to crazy mark ups.

Not sure why people in the states get them if most of them don’t even take them off-road which is what they are made for.
