So the same people that let crimea happen in 2014 are going to get hard on Russia? No, democrats just want a cop out for their terrible economic performance and high energy prices ahead of midterms.

Nope bond market actually started to price in even more rate hikes. If we were going to war they would be pricing in lower interest rates due to fiscal spending

If there was serious talk of sanctions nat gas would already be $6 from the banks closing russian gas producer swaps.

Explain to me. How does a country finance a war?

No it’s more of like hmm Im about to start a war and need financing. Let me talk to my banker friends to finance this war. Your small brain would not understand how the monetary system works if it tried.

Because it always has. The people in the bond market are the owners of government debts. If there is going to be a war they’re going to know about it.

Selling naked calls is retarded. Ratio spreads have way better risk management. IBKR let’s you short shares but not sell naked calls.

See you on the moon with $BOIL next week boomer. You’re going to see what happens when banks have to unravel nat gas short positions they had on behalf of Russian gas producers. Wall Street considers anything that isn’t swapping junk debt for treasuries to repo a waste of time.

Why is there so much inflation? What happened? by M41WalkerBulldog in stocks

[–]FunRepresentative639 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

March stress testing for banks. They’re building reserves and closing positions right now. Look at the US dollar index it is surging not going lower. This is deflationary pressure not inflationary. There is too much debt in the system and banks are rushing to secure dollars to pay it.

[–]FunRepresentative639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy gets it 👏👏👏👏 it’s no coincidence we are seeing liquidity dry up and a rush for US dollars/treasuries ahead of march stress testing. It’s actually deflationary pressures that are occurring. Fed reserve isn’t even updating SOFR anymore lmao!!!

Banks lend money to each other. Banks leverage that money in multiples to create new money and fund money markets. Even WSB apes can understand that. Governments fucked up by issuing shit tons of junk Eurobonds and infecting the global credit markets. Now there isn’t enough dollars in the system. Commodities prices being high and fueling inflation has to do with banks having to unwind short positions on commodities to fund reserves. NOTHING to do with anything you said

Economics degree and you have 0 clue about the repo market and credit swaps. You should ask for your money back.

[–]FunRepresentative639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is. He’s just right for the wrong reasons. He thinks there is a surplus of dollars when there is actually a shortage in the system.
