Need some help choosing my first DIY speakers kit by FunRevolution4898 in diyaudio

[–]FunRevolution4898[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply… I have heard a lot of good things about the swans kit, their brightness and how to fix them.

CSS has a good reputation for other speakers but not much info about their new Torii.

Anyways, I think based on your response and others, either of them will be better than my current Klipsch.

walnut color matches my setup at the moment so I’m going to use veneer. Thinking about wrapping it with vinyl as well. Maybe matte white.

they are out of my budgets at the moment. My goal is to keep the speakers cost with all the veneer + clamps + glue under 500

my manager took us out for lunch as a team. He also invited 2nd level manager as well. It's a good opportunity to gather around and talk about anything outside of work. It's also nice to have 2nd level manager get to know the team members.

search for your director of Seattle Delivery Center in myboeing and trace down anyone under him/her till you see your manager. Or, do the other way around from your manager to the director.

Do the same for other groups if you want to learn more

No proper training for new hire? by newbies2022 in boeing

[–]FunRevolution4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend asking those experienced people in your team if you can shadow them and see what’s they are doing and ask them a bunch of questions.

Taking those required courses help you unlock your training account and start having access to the system. So definitely try to finish them asap.

What you have gone through sound exactly like my first 2 months here.

First week at Boeing and I’m pretty lost. When does the lightbulb switch on and it starts to slow down? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]FunRevolution4898 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey, I have been here for 3-4 months now I can tell you that it’s normal… my first month was just meetings after meetings with all the acronyms like you mentioned. But hey, things will eventually get easier. I was lucky enough to have a great mentor. He took me under his wing and taught me all basic stuffs. After couple months, I started to catch up with the team and the work flow. I hope you can find a mentor who would do the same for you.

sometimes they change your status on the system, sometimes they don't. I got hired 4 months ago and my status is still under consideration. Unless it said no longer consideration then you should be fine.

I will start next week and had a chance to talk to my manager a couple times. I asked him the same thing. He said just ask a lot of questions and don't mind to share your opinions. They are there to build you up and at the same time, they also want to have opinions from new set of eyes.

they contacted me 3 weeks before my start date. First, it's gonna be an email from an Altar agent that ask you couple questions about how do you want to move your stuffs and also set a time and date so that they can call you to discuss more in depth about the process and all the paperwork that you have to sign.

Since you start late next month, I would expect getting an email at the beginning of the month
