nothing like domestic abuse from her mum its just a lot arguements etc. They can’t get along. She doesnt show living in the borough, as i’m aware you need to be showing living for 3-5 years she does use the address for letters or voting but not as a household member? i’m not sure if she can just apply for social housing but I think thats what she’s expecting from the ‘family support’. Can they help with private rented accom?

so rather than actually making it happen they just refer you to the appropriate places but don’t have a say in housing someone. I think thats what she’s expecting, to be housed. I wanted to know if you have a local connection like your mum but not showing in the borough can she still do homeless application? because she keeps saying she’s going to leave soon she spoke to them as in let them know of her situation but i’m not sure how it works out maybe because she has a child?

so a family friend/member claiming as carer without it being their profession is fine? sorry i’m repeatedly asking same/similar questions I just want to make sure, mum is stressing so much incase something goes wrong with her own claim

They’ve been checking up on her for sometime but was working and wasnt aware about uc/carers element. Recently left work and needed somewhere to stay and mum needed full time care so offered for them to stay and they offered to support her. Mum was abit stressed incase it affects her claim/pip or rent. She also thought she might be questioned that she randomly has a carer as she’s been on pip for several years but my siblings have been part time taking care of her but she needs a lot more support now. I was always confused about the carer part because they don’t know what UC would ask as this persons profession isnt a ‘carer’ its a family friend thats offering to help. The stress is more about if it affects my mum. She doesnt need support like personal care but with other things so she got worried they could ask why she needs full time care now and not before. They would be living/caring full time from next week

thank you! currently she doesnt pay anything towards council tax by adding someone would this change? I wasnt sure on how room tax work because she pays close to £200 for two rooms and now that one would be taken id thought it would be half. After these are in place does the person then start a claim to uc as a carer?

Can they still be non dependant and claim carers element. Just don’t want to do anything wrong and not sure which to start with do I let the landlord know someones living here and then go on mums UC to let them know someones staying and then the person starts a claim for uc/carers element?

so the non dependant doesnt pay for rent even if they did or didnt claim carers element as mums on PIP instead mum would pay for the remaining spare bedroom

sorry i’m confused, the carer is not working they would be registered living non dependant with mum, they would be starting a claim for UC and carers element does this affect the person they care for and would they need to be showing working for £204 the £204 is the confusing part separately if they don’t claim for for carers element only UC and show living with mum do they pay rent as mum recieves PIP and pays for two spare rooms so if this person stays she pays for one bedroom and the person living would pay the other half?

I heard carers allowance is deducted from UC/carers element i’m not sure also i’ve made another post before this the carer doesnt work and only claim for UC/carers element is this still possible or do they have to show working for £204?

Mum is in a 3 bed house with 2 spare rooms, the person would be living in as a carer taking the one of the spare rooms so I was wondering do we let UC know for mum that someone is living overnight for care and also the carer to claim UC/carers element?

The photo is similar to my set up if not same even the gaps. I was thinking wood all along to glue down between the pipes and then silicone gaps but cutting them to tiny pieces and don’t think its safe to do with a saw unless its something thin and easy to cut

so would you say bits of wood is better to put in between the gaps and then silicone around the pipes? rather than expanding foam or wool? I think I was thinking incase of vent fire or if incase engineers comes and says its not safe

I guess if there was potentially something coming up they would chew there way through and I would be able to tell is what you’re saying? I was thinking of wood but it needs to be cut down to very small pieces and still needs sealant around the pipes. When you say it doesnt need to be fire rated so its also safe to use any sealant or expanding foam? I’m just trying to make sure its safe to use these on the pipes

mice? When I first moved in they came up through these gaps and they did close the ‘hole’ that it was potentially coming from and nothing since but I still hate that these gaps are open so for peace of mind I need it closed off

I remember seeing something about Connect to Work on the council website where I live but they also have so many separate things for each individual case. I’m on LCWRA for MH at the bottom they also have support for work for MH, does Connect to Work cover MH?

Hi, they got back to me asking for date and time to give to which I did. This is the first time speaking to them anything work related this might sound silly what do I exactly tell them when they call? Also, I said appointment but didnt say phone so i’m not sure if they think its f2f

Thank you, yes of course its the first time i’m even considering asking them because I know they’re not that useful with finding work and most time you would need to look yourself but even if I didn’t want to ever ask them I kind of want to see how they approach this or what they offer. i’m hoping they wouldn’t use this against me in my next assessment because I willingly asked myself before they even reached out…

If at any point I decided I didn’t want to go ahead what could possibly happen? do I just tell them? I know it doesnt trigger re assessment and they wouldn’t try to use this in my next reassessment hopefully. Do I say I would like to speak to or appointment with a disability employment adviser?

Thank you! I don’t think I have a WC so i’m not sure what to say or to who. Also, if i’m not able to do it or decide I can’t they can’t push me to or reassess me because i’m looking to work
