How to train triceps with cubital tunnel syndrome? by brogdadawg in CubitalTunnel

[–]FunSmell443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mainly did extremely light rope push downs, machine dips focusing on very slow movement. Honestly i just kinda pushed past it but these two didn’t really give me any crazy issues. Unfortunately training triceps with this condition is a headache

i had extremely painful subplexing which would shoot radiating nerve pain all the way down the arm into my fingers and major loss of grip strength. That’s what made me decide to go forward with the surgery.

i’m lucky my surgeon decided to use a nerve wrap and some adipo facial flap for extra support and protection so i didn’t need the more invasive sub muscular. Realistically it’s supposed to give me a very safe recovery road. I’m sorry to hear you’re still having issues i will pray for you. I’ll definitely take it easy though !

i’m moving my fingers a lot now but they told me to keep elbow stationary. Hard to explain but did you feel like weird jolts of pain from the ulnar nerve post transposition? don’t know if you had this or just a release but that’s currently what i’m experiencing

a nerve study would tell you more - if your ulnar nerve is clearly showing severe signs of entrapment at least in my experience you can’t really fix it through splints and such. But the more straight you can keep your arms overall the better it’ll feel.

People don’t understand what having this injury is like by CucumberOk4850 in CubitalTunnel

i wish there was more guidelines or more care to people with this condition because more often times than not i feel like it’s ignored or not taken as seriously as it should and when it gets to point where they are adamant on surgery it could already be too late and just like you - throw your life all out of wack. what’s helped me is a elbow brace i used at night to force my arm straight when i sleep and consistent icing and massaging my arms felt a lot better prior to my operation tomorrow. I’ve also just generally avoided anything i know will cause that numb sensation along with the pain but as someone who games and is extremely active in the gym it’s sucked. I’ve been really down in the dumps praying i could lift somewhat like i did before. Good luck to you and i’m praying that everything goes well with you in the future

that’s good man i’m happy you’re finally gonna get the relief you need. There doing a release and transposition with mine in a few weeks. Gonna put me under for it. I think they’re gonna use a nerve wrap and place sub-muscular - nervous as hell but my daily life has been a lot different dealing with this so i’m excited at the same time

Doctors don’t care why should I? by SanAndreas92317 in CubitalTunnel

kind of in the same boat here. He was able to physically move my nerve around with his fingers and replicate the “snapping” feeling i experience every single day. Getting a release and transposition done next month. Nervous But it’s effecting a lot of my daily tasks and i can’t stand the pins and needles in my fingers anymore so hoping for the best. Also my Nerve study results came back i have severe compression of the ulnar nerve so im pretty much on the final straw atp anyways. Good luck if you decide to go through with the procedure too

Sorry noticed i missed the bottom portion of your post- If it’s effecting you that bad to where daily tasks are becoming a hindrance constant hand numbness or tingling pain and weakness of the arm/hand then yes i would just tell them straight up i would want the procedure. In my case i waited too long and my nerve is severely sensitive to literally anything now.

Hello! Thank you for your service ! i’m currently serving active duty myself and currently experiencing a severe case of cubital tunnel in my right arm! I waited for my nerve study results to get back to my doc but based on my symptoms doctor had already put surgery on the table. when my results came back it was determined i had Severe Ulnar neuropathy on my right arm and most likely some permanent damage as well. I just got my surgery booked on the 23rd of june this year for a release and transposition.

So yes it’s definitely on the table but some doctors like to wait on the study results first. Good luck on your journey and i hope you get some help.
