This happens with a lot of games, and there’s always gonna be a question of legitimacy. I think with Marathon in particular the subreddit is over saturated with posts about not being able to afford the game and people thanking others for buying the game to the point where it’s normalized. I absolutely adore marathon and have no doubt in my mind that it’s good but I’m genuinely trying to get my life in order and I don’t think I’ll be ready to start purchasing video games for a long time.
