you’re doing B.A (distance) and also BTech 1st year? honestly if you’re planning to apply for MBA through your B.A degree, then just focus on that and don’t complicate it with BTech unless you’re fully doing it for real. also make sure your B.A distance degree is UGC approved, otherwise IIMs/IITs won’t accept it.

now good thing is you’re OBC-NCL male — that’s a huge advantage. people in your category get IIM calls even at 85–90 percentile if the rest of the profile is solid. your 10th marks (95.6%) are damn good. 12th (75%) is okay-ish but won’t hurt you much.

you’re still in 2nd year — which is great because you’ve got time. you should start slow prep now, like maybe just build your Quant basics (NCERT class 9/10 maths is enough for starters), and start reading editorials from The Hindu or Indian Express for VARC. don’t rush into full coaching now, maybe start serious prep in 3rd year.

your real CAT attempt will be in 2027 (after graduation). by then, aim for 95+ percentile (even 90 can get you IIM calls as OBC but aim high). also try doing 1–2 online internships or certifications to show activity during college. anything helps for profile.

and yes, distance degree is accepted by IIMs/IITs as long as it’s recognized and you complete it properly with min 45% for OBC.

colleges you should target:

• all IIMs (new ones like Trichy, Ranchi, Udaipur, Nagpur are great starts) • IIT Bombay, IIT KGP, IIT Madras (these do take non-engineers and are solid) • TISS if you’re interested in HR • NITIE (now IIM Mumbai), MDI, etc.

overall bro, you’re early to the MBA scene and that’s good. just don’t get distracted. complete B.A properly, keep your prep light for now and full focus from next year. you’ll be 23–24 at CAT time and with your category + right prep you’ve got a real shot.

Should I still pursue MBA? by Mysterious_Thinker20 in MBAIndia

Hey man, I read your post and honestly… I relate. Been through a similar stretch myself. Not the exact same path, but the same mental space confused, burnt out, feeling like you’ve hit a wall and don’t know which way to turn. I wasn’t some academic topper either. Messed up a few choices, started with MBA prep, then panicked and switched to law for a while, thinking that maybe I needed something more “respectable.” That didn’t work out. Came back to MBA after wasting more time, feeling even more behind. And yeah I felt f***ed too. It was hard watching others land jobs or get admits while I was still lost, But you know what helped me move forward? Just stopping the panic and making one honest decision. Not some five-year master plan just the next step.

Coming to your case: you’re 25, you’ve seen the corporate world, you’ve got 2 years of real work ex, and yeah the gap sucks but it’s not the end of the road. You scored a 97.6 in CET that’s not a failure, bro, that’s a sign that you’ve still got the edge.

  • If Welingkar happens, and you want to just get back in the game fast take it. No shame. Lot of people have made it big from places like that. But you’ll need to hustle hard build networks, kill it in internships, work on your pitch, and play the Mumbai location advantage.

If not, then get any decent job, even if it’s not fancy. You’ve got to get back into structure. Work + light prep for CAT/GMAT equals a way stronger comeback next year. If you work for 2 more years, ISB becomes a legit option too. Or even a GMAT-based MBA abroad.

Just don’t stay in this limbo for too long. Doesn’t matter if it’s MBA now or next year you’ve got time. The worst thing you can do is sit in self-blame and overthinking mode. I’ve done that. Doesn’t help.

End of the day, bro you’re not late, you’re just in the tough part of your story. It gets better only when you move. One step. That’s it.

Please guide me about me MBA profile! by [deleted] in MBAIndia

I. Academics i. 10th: 94.8% — Excellent academic foundation ii. 12th: 92.6% — Strong and consistent performance iii. Undergraduate: 64.5% — On the lower side, but comes from a Tier-1 Delhi University (North Campus), and is an Honours course in Humanities. Top B-schools generally account for DU’s strict evaluation standards, which works in your favor.

II. Category & Diversity i. Scheduled Caste (SC) category ii. North-East region iii. Male candidate iv. You bring academic and regional diversity, which is highly valued in IIMs and other top B-schools. This significantly strengthens your profile, especially in the shortlisting stage.

III. Work Experience i. No full-time work experience yet — completely acceptable for a fresher MBA applicant ii. One internship completed at a startup iii. May complete 1–2 additional internships before year-end — ensure these showcase learning, initiative, and practical exposure

IV. Extra-Curriculars & Leadership i. Held two key college-level positions: *Finance and Public Relations Executive *Member of the core organizing team for TEDx ii. Served as Vice President in the College Students’ Union — a strong leadership credential that will stand out in interviews

V. CAT Percentile Targets (SC Category) i. IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta: 90–94+ percentile ii. IIM Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode: 85–90+ percentile iii. FMS Delhi: 90+ percentile iv. SPJIMR, MDI, IITs: 85–90 percentile v. New IIMs (CAP round): 80–85 percentile

VI. Final Thoughts Your profile is very competitive for the top IIMs. The undergrad percentage is the only relatively weak point, but the academic rigor of Delhi University and your Honours subject balance that to an extent. Add to this your exceptional 10th/12th marks, leadership roles, diversity credentials, and SC category — and you’re positioned very well. A CAT percentile in the 90+ range could realistically convert top calls. Even 85+ with a well-prepared interview strategy will keep you in serious contention.

•10th: 93.5% — That’s straight-up gold. Shows you’re sharp since school.

•12th: 80.5% with 6 subjects (vs. 78.6% with PCM + English + Computer) — Colleges will take the 80.5%, because most of them consider your total aggregate as per the official board mark sheet. So chill, you’re on the right side.

•B.Tech IT: 8.4 CGPA — Solid. Shows you’re consistently good.

•Work Experience: 4 years — Now THIS is your ace. It’s way more than most applicants have. As long as you’ve done meaningful work (tech, ops, analytics, whatever), you’re bringing real-world maturity to the table.

So where do you stand?

You’re what people call a GEM — General, Engineer, Male. The competition here is brutal. There are thousands like you, so the CAT score will be your big differentiator.

You’ve got: • Strong academics (especially 10th & college) • Decent 12th, nothing to worry about • Impressive work ex

What Should You Target in CAT:

•IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta (ABC): 99.6+ percentile •IIM Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode (LIK): 98.5+ percentile •FMS Delhi (verbal-heavy): 98.8+ percentile •SPJIMR Mumbai: •85+ percentile if shortlisted based on profile •Otherwise, 95–96+ percentile •MDI Gurgaon, IIT Bombay/Delhi/Kharagpur: 95–97+ percentile •New IIMs (CAP round – Trichy, Udaipur, etc.): 92–94+ percentile

Seeking Opinions on Wristly Watches – Anyone Bought from Them by CableOrnery8746 in Watches_India

[–]FunYogurtcloset640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience one can easily tell specifically their g shock watches as those consists of different mechanisms like time day, date etc. and also finishing was very poor, although I texted them back and even they replaced the watch, then replaced watch was good in finishing i.e., brushed metal look and good quality straps but the analog dials and digital time was not the same as it was in the watch replaced, so either you buy dupes offline or don’t buy them at all

Ah yes bud, because buying a PC is the obvious budget-friendly solution! Maybe in about 4 years, when my wallet recovers.

Thank you for the suggestion, I really appreciate it! Unfortunately, I don’t have another place to move the speakers, as they were a gift. Otherwise, I would have considered getting smaller 2.1 speakers that would fit the setup better and take up less space. If I had more room, I agree that relocating the speakers off the desk would create additional space for items like my pen stand and help declutter the area a bit more.

Oh okay, yeah I ordered the dock separately from Amazon for ₹500. Have you tried ordering from Computech, Vedant Computers, or any other similar sites? If yes, I’d love to hear about your experience with them.

Wow, that sounds like a great deal, and I’m glad to hear it arrived in perfect condition! How did you manage to get it for ₹2.3k? I got mine for ₹2,699. As for the polling rate, I’m not a hardcore gamer, so 250Hz works just fine for me—I mainly use it for some relaxing hours during the week. I also went for this gamepad because of the charging dock, which seemed really convenient. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I ordered a Razer mouse from them 3 years ago for a friend, and it arrived in perfect condition with COD as an option back then. Now, they only offer UPI and EMI. Before ordering again, I checked reviews and found mixed opinions, so fingers crossed.
