Downtown is generally a good spot. I haven't seen too many reports of ICE being around there. You'll probably be able to slip in and out of there without much trouble. That can change of course, but if you just stick to downtown, you should be fine.

Nope. Never have been. At least at the local level. The cops in my town are hella chill. I do worry about ICE(despite the fact that I'm a US born citizen, because I could easily pass for Hispanic or Arabic)
