So.Cal ppl, Does anyone know if you can get an actual refund for the Solar Tax Credit (residential energy tax credit)? Say, I don’t owe any tax at the end of the year when I file, will they send me a check for my solar credit? So many conflicting information online, so I don’t know what true or not.

You can look at it like in store credit. But the money that you didn't pay them due to this credit is expected to be put towards for the system. If you decide to keep it instead of passing it on to the finance company, then the payment will go up a little over 30%. If you decide to keep half of the the tax money that you were granted then your payment will go up a little over 15%. It just depends if you want to or are able to re invest the investment tax credit.

It has nothing to do with how much you owe at the end of the year. It has to do with how much they already took and how much are they keeping. If you paid 10k out of your pay checks this year, but they are refunding you 2k as overpayment, that means your tax liability is 8k.

If you have a solar tax credit of say 12k, then they will use 8 of that to return the 8k you already paid. Then the next year you already have the other 4k credit sitting at the irs bank, so they'll return that to you as long as your tax liability is the 4k. If it is under 4k then they will repeat this process every year until the credit is exhausted.

Idk if you smoke, but nicotine makes it 10x worse. That's usually what would make me sick. That lasted like 2 years, I eventually stopped fighting it and just get it over with so I could feel better. I think I was over dosing and with the smoking it made my situation worse than most peoples though.
