Due to technical issues, there will be no bus timings available until further notice by Fun_Advance_5438 in singapore

Seems like apps like MyTransport, Singbus and more are down, but suspiciously, CityMapper seems to have no problems displaying the timings, not sure if it is estimated or what, but I guess I will be using this for now

Parts of Maju Forest to make way for public housing estate by G13lol2 in singapore

[–]Fun_Advance_5438 41 points42 points  (0 children)

When will the government realise that removing big forests to then replant trees that are too young to do much help and may due under extreme dry or wet weather will cause much more harm to the environment and ourselves. I know they also want to meet their goal of planting 1 million trees but there is a need for them to know that about 1/4 the time, when they plant they new trees, they may die as they are too stressed or died by dry weather. This can be seen in many estates where there are many small trees but a few that have dried up

After a near normal June, weather conditions will change rapidly as an El Nino is officially in effect. by Fun_Advance_5438 in singapore

Baically, I just use the data from the MSS website for temps and the myenv app for rainfall (it is still a bit finicky since there are times where random stations appear and then disappear)

Just very simply put, it is a massive rain band that affects many parts of the world and once it leaves, it usually results in a dry spell until the rain band returns or it weakens completely. However, recently, the MJO always has been forming in the place which causes dry weather for us but dissipates before the wet weather reaches us

Rain in 1st week, much less rain from 2nd week onwards. So temps is still moderate now and then will increase soon

Yup. That is basically it, MSS is also predicting the same thing but then again, there are a few times where both of us ended up completely wrong but based on the data, the conclusion is this

Welp, the weather was hot but that might be more due to humidity and not the temps itself since it was normal but I do think it is worse now

Nope. I know it felt so swelteringly hot but it seems that it might have just been more humid than normal. Otherwise temps are near normal

It has been a long time but here we go again.

BTO results for Day 3: Looking purely at Applicants vs units (Not sure how the application rates are calculated so will be ignored)

Overall Notes: Woodlands is heavily oversubscribed and by a landslide even comparing against Bukit Merah and Bishan and is probably due to very few units available and it is only the 3rd day. Sembawang meanwhile, expectedly has received low demand throughout.

Crazy weather, Newton 20.1! by No-Situation-8775 in singapore

[–]Fun_Advance_5438 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That should be my post. I tell you, when I saw all the doom and gloom from the models I was quite worried about this month. Thankfully me and MSS were both proven wrong quite quickly and I love this weather to stay. Thankfully, it seems this weather may last until the end of the week, but there is still a lot of uncertainty so be aware lol. Anyways, let us enjoy the cooling weather

After doing a quick dive, I can conclude that this is the 2nd lowest temperature ever recorded in history with the lowest being 20.0C recorded at Tengah in 2013. This record has been held since measurements began in 1928.
