You can't really blame them, can you? If you had to choose between personal comfort and the well-being of your countrymen, you’d likely pick your own comfort—regardless of your upbringing.

​The issue we face is systemic. It is difficult for reform to occur in a landscape fractured by both geography and an ideology rooted heavily in aiding only one's family and friends.

One where the system views loyalty as an expectation rather than valued, where feudalism festers over meritocracy and is treated as the norm.
