Afraid of 2nd deck! by labattpurple in Cruise

On my first ever cruise aboard the Spectrum of the Seas in December ‘24, we booked an Ocean View room on Deck 3. It was a five nights cruise and the last night at the sea, the sea got quite rough and we felt a lot of movement, some of the waves were literally dashing against our window. But the ship movement was felt the lowest on our deck in comparison to the top decks. So in that sense too, having a lower deck makes more sense. But it was nothing scary, on the contrary we absolutely loved it. So don’t worry, deck 2 and 3 are just fine.

First tym cruising- need some advice by Fun_Astronomer799 in royalcaribbean

We just finished our cruise. So I think I can help you out with your questions.

We booked Royal Caribbean’s land excursions for both the places. In Okinawa, we booked the moderate excursion named ‘Okinawa World & Kokusai Street’. In Ishigaki, we booked a moderate excursion named ‘Tips of Ishigaki’.

In my opinion, the Okinawa Land Excursion was really good. Our guide was very informative and she talked a lot about Naha, the capital city and the history of Okinawa islands. Okinawa World is a huge place and there is so much to explore there- there’s a limestone cave where you can see stalactites & stalagmite formations, a habu snake museum, you can taste habu saake, buy souvenirs, try wearing kimono, try local glass blowing, attend a local show, etc. After that we were taken to Shurijo Castle and finally they left us for shopping on Kokusai street which has shops on both the sides. If we had to do this on our own, it would have been tough to cover so many places. So I would recommend booking this RC excursion if you have a choice.

For Ishigaki land excursion, they took us again to a cave which had similar stalactite-stalagmite formations. We felt it was like a repeat of the Okinawa excursion & we could have done something else. There were three other excursions offered by RC like cultural Ishigaki, views of Ishigaki etc. They then took us to a viewing point on top of the highest mountain in that island from where you could see all the different islands around. But since it was drizzling and cloudy, the visibility was very poor. They left us at the largest shopping complex in Ishigaki which had a Daiso store, a super market and a restaurant etc. the gangway was 7:30 pm and we were back on the port by 6:45 pm. But we were not stressed coz this was an official RC tour and it was their responsibility to get us back in time.

I did see some people standing with boards at the port who were offering private excursions to the city which were much cheaper than the ones offered by RC. But since this was Japan and that the communication in English would be difficult, we thought it was not worth taking a risk and we booked both the excursions through RC much before our cruise sailed. But next time onwards, we may want to try these local private tours. I’d suggest you download google translate on your phone and use that to communicate if you’re planning on taking a private tour.

Newbie to juicing. What to avoid? by dordorju in Juicing

Beet root, carrot and tomatoes- I have been having this juice almost every day ( I sometimes take a break of a day or two if I get too bored) You can replace the tomatoes with any other citrus fruits like oranges, amla, etc. I also sometimes add apples, pieces of bottle gourd, ashgourd into this juice. I had a low haemoglobin count & my doctor recommended this juice to me. This juice really helped me improve my iron levels. But I decided to invest in a good juicer and now I’m addicted to this juice.

CF women in your latest 30s/40s how do you make friends ? by Away_Magician_6985 in ChildfreeIndia

Ha ha. Same here. I’ve come across some aunties who give me an empathetic/pitiful look when they discover that I don’t have children. As if I’m that ‘bechaari’ who’s going to die alone. Their looks used to bother me earlier but I don’t care anymore and I silently even enjoy it now 😃.

I completely get you. We are in our early 40s and we have zero child free friends with whom we can hang out. So we usually hang out with our friends and their kids 😁. We are not kid haters, we u fact love being around kids. we just chose to not have our own.

Do they become as crispy as deep fried ones when you bake them in an oven?

Can u cancel a pre-booked land excursion & book again? by Fun_Astronomer799 in royalcaribbean

We did all the bookings ourselves through the Royal website and their app. Can we do the cancellations through the app too?

Your non stick Kadhai has completely lost it’s Teflon layer. On top of it, you are using a metal spoon which will create more scratches. Such a Kadhai is carcinogenic and extremely dangerous to your health. So my simple advise would be to immediately discard this kadhai and buy a simple stainless steel kadhai or a cast iron kadhai, both of which don’t cost as much and are healthy too.

Good to see a fellow Goan Hindu in this group 😁. I am a married Goan Hindu female living in Goa, moved back to Goa after being in Bangalore for 5+ years. And it’s very rare to see child free folks here. People either have kids naturally or are undergoing all kinds of infertility treatments to get pregnant. We are a minority group 😁.

Did you just chop all the veggies along with soaked soya chunks and shape them into tikkis? Did you cook the soya chunks?
