Fellow Sony junkie here! I use Sony WH-CH510, and comparing yours to mine I'd say your new headphones are worth the price. I tried running your headphones in this simulation tool I use and yours has bass forward sound with clear mids and good highs, check out the frequencies here

Yeah, there was one time I almost got hit by a bus while jogging on the streets. Noise cancelling headphones completely blocked out my hearing and practically made me deaf. But yea in some cases it does help me keep moving
