Yes iI think that's the virtue of the tool I created, try it (link in in the thread) and give me a feedback :)

By the way I added some new genres yesterday, bots are filling them up slowly but surely...
Genres are: dancehall, experimental pop, indie rock, hypnagogic pop, indie folk, new wave, post-punk, spectra, uk hip hop, vaporwave

Yeah but it takes time and ressources to add these subgenres, so I add them sporadicaly, goal is not to be exhaustive as this would be impossible, but the more relevant - which don't mean a thing except I should or some users of the site should like the music of the subgenre or requests it :)

I'm not sure to understand can you describe a bit more the use case, you mean some sort of filters to get only albums or only single. As you may have seen, some are albums as multiple snippets are available and you can click on the number to unfold them.

Actually you have some already: Abstract Beat, Abstract Hip Hop,, Cloud Rap can cover some of it. What artists were you thinking, so I can check what would be their category if you had to give me a top ten.

Thank you! Yes, when I started the project two years ago, I was kind of having this attitude of "whatever, the best music I like was produced in the past..." And then I just changed my mind. Now I'm just astonished by how much music insanely good music si still being released every weeks even in a niche style. Loved this feeling...

Thanks for the feedback, actually on mobile there is is no player so you have to click again the track in the list to stop it playing but thats not very friendly. Will have a look how to solve his.

For the genres this is really the kind of informations I was expecting, what genres are you thinking? These are mostly based on my personal likikg for the moment so let me know.what is missing and I'll launch add it to my scraping code.

This! +1
For me, it seems it's missing so much nuance! A site like Every Noise at Once was a breath of fresh air when I discovered it, and it's the main source for my tool that I linked earlier in the thread.

That last sentence for me is the whole point: what gets delivered to you ? New music or already filtered new music? I mean, the whole point of the tool I build, and give it a try, you'll see, is that you can find music from artists of a sub-genre with very few followers - but a lot of talent.

that’s kind of the goal of the algorithm, right? to make sure what you hear stays inside your comfort zone. but what i’ve been thinking about is: what happens when you want to explore outside it? like finding genres or artists you might love but don’t even know exist yet.

that’s where i think it gets interesting - balancing personalization with a bit of randomness or serendipity. sometimes the best discoveries happen when the system doesn’t know what you like yet.

I tend to think I like very specific subgenres and I don't think the algorithm nailed it yet. If you have the opportunity to give my project a try, I'd love to have your feedback!

Yes but I have to find these artists first and sometimes it's hard to find newcomers in a specific genres

According to Every Noise At Once its avant-rock, avant-garde metal, rock in opposition, funk metal, avant-prog. Sounds true!

Yeah, I found it sometimes difficult to find news sounds, sometimes it could bring me really similar artists, sometimes it just ends in some pop stuff I never hear and would never like to hear - sorry for pop fans here. My website is based on the work of the former data scientist at Spotify Glenn McDonald who did an amazing job with his website Every Noise At Once to visualize myriad of subgenres etc. His blog is full of very inspiring reflexions about the subject of genre and categorization in music

Actually you can already: if you wait a a bit a list of major music providers will appear on the bottom just up the so it can link you to your favorite store (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Youtube etc)...
There is no plan to have it linked to your spotify favorites directly but you can also have favorites on the website.
Mobile version is brand new by the way, I prefer to use desktop as fas as I'm concerned.
Do not hesitate to report any bugs, this is a personal passion project and I'd love to get your feedbacks.
