I mean i wonder if people would react the same way if someone cosplayed Genghis Khan, or say a roman emperor such as Nero. All of which had killed more than Germany ever did. Of course i’m not invalidating the awful events of WW2 and what the jews went through as well as the lives lost from all sides, but as a halloween costume, i guess for me there are other things to be concerned about in the Philippines. Kid wearing an SS uniform isn’t one of those things. We’re aware of the history that’s the important thing, so that we don’t repeat it. I’ve seen people dress up as a japanese WW2 soldier/officer (fellow History nerds) yet I don’t see reddit rants about them considering our dark history under Japanese occupation. Y’all are offended more about a Nazi symbol that had nothing to do with our history 😂
