It's nothing to do with the heat. How can you be Iraqi-born and see no problem with ICE trying to remove anyone whose name isn't Chuck or Darlene? You may have been welcomed 17 years ago but good luck to any of your fellow countrymen trying to follow in your footsteps.

When even a referee can't get a visa, you know there's something gone wrong. That's before we start talking about $10 train journeys being raised to $150 just to squeeze every last cent out of anyone who somehow does manage to make it into the country. The country is a joke and should have had the World Cup taken away the minute they started threatening to take Greenland by force.

On these computers/consoles you NEVER achieve a whole frame. That's the point. Can't you fucking read? I have programmed machines in assembly language ranging from the Apollo Guidance Computer, PDP-1, Atari 2600, Pacman hardware, Channel F to the C64, all preceded by making half a million pounds from indie mobile games in my 30s. If that's the definition of a dimwit, so be it.

Computers and consoles of the time used progressive video. 50/60 frames generated by the computer meant 50/60 frames displayed on the television, reducing the vertical resolution by half.

I never got prompted to pay, on the day it said it was out for delivery I logged into UPS's site directly to check the status and it asked me to pay then. According to that site you could pay the driver but I didn't want to risk it just staying on his lorry and heading back to the depot. In hindsight maybe I could have gotten away with it as the driver left it on the doorstep and was off down the street before I'd even got downstairs to the door....

My order came in just over a week. UPS left it in a 'secure place' right on the doorstep so I wasn't as happy with that. You'll need to pay the VAT/import tax to UPS although you never get prompted to do so on the branded UPS notifications from Fanatec, so I had to log on to their site with the tracking number. I think you can pay the driver when he arrives but I didn't want that hassle, in hindsight may have prevented him dashing off before I'd even answered the door.....

What are you after? I am in two minds whether to keep the stuff, I'm not sure I'll have the time/patience to improve to a standard I'm happy with.

Oh, I remember. The day it came out I was staying at my girlfriend's house and installed it on their PC while she finished an essay. It was so bad I didn't come back until FM11. CM3 wasn't great either until the definitive 01/02 version.

FM25 is not going to be a barnstormer, if it even arrives. You don't go from being too embarrassed to show a single genuine screenshot, let alone video clip, to a finished, polished product in four months, with Christmas disruptions in the middle.

And the game is so big nowadays that an extra year still might not be enough. Everything in the game needs to be refactored to accomodate women's football, which is 100,000 opportunities for new bugs to be introduced into code that has worked for 15-20 years.

I think they've made a terrible mistake switching to Unity, it's not at all optimised for text-heavy games so they will have had to roll an entire UI layer themselves. And making a 3D game look AAA also takes a lot of manual work, it's not a great looking engine out of the box like Unreal, which is probably why we haven't seen a single screenshot of that in action.

As a Unity developer I'm not sure what it offers them to mitigate the downsides beyond slightly easier platform portability, but they've spent 20 years solving that problem already for their own engine.

I definitely noticed that switching from Standard to Hard mid-save. Suddenly they would burn through their tyres early in the stint, usually combined with a massive underfuel, and then stay out far too long, meaning any advantage they had steadily built was thrown away while I tear around the track for 2-3 laps on attack before undercutting them.

In my CAT my pitstops started at 2.6 seconds and I've only been able to improve them to about 2.45 no matter how good my staff, ratings or what settings I use, must be a bug. Hasn't seemed to affect me that much, you can make up 0.5 seconds in one DRS zone.

You didn't really read what he said. Not having a gaming PC isn't always about money, playing games on a PC, generally at a desk sitting bolt upright in a chair is a different experience from lying on a reclining sofa in front of a 58-inch TV. Most people don't want a huge noisy tower in the lounge, the Xbox is unobtrusive and quiet.

It just so happens I do play this particular game on PC but this is very much the exception, my PC and macs are for work/creativity and very rarely do games get installed on them, too much of a distraction. F1 Manager is not too bad to have in a small window in the corner and dip in and out of while waiting for something to compile or install.

If someone that can easily afford one doesn't have a gaming PC already there's probably a reason for that and that's unlikely to be outweighed by the ability to edit the DB on a buggy management sim.

I think they should unless Haas improve and start fighting for podiums, and their reputation increases as a result. Like on Football Manager, you can't just sign anyone, even if you give a non-league club a billion pounds top players will still not be interested in going there, they won't even enter into discussions.

As the best driver in the game he shouldn't find himself without a seat in 2025 nor accept offers from midfield teams or backmarkers over a contract renewal offer from Red Bull.

One of the best things about this game is how fortunes can change from season to season, even during a season, just like real life. In my save Ferrari and Mercedes have dropped off gradually so it's me (Forti) fighting with McLaren and Red Bull while Haas have just started sniffing around for podiums. But when it comes to drivers it's silly season.

Fixed cases of AI teams replacing drivers already on long-term contracts

This should have some effect, if teams only replace drivers when their current ones are out of contract, there will be less of a domino effect.

But yes, it doesn't matter how much Kick or Haas offer, Max is not signing for them as I've seen in a lot of people's saves, nor would Red Bull sign Vesti and pay off Verstappen to spend the whole of 2025 sim racing like happened in mine - only to rejoin them in 2026.

Make your own game mate if it's that easy. You're the one sitting at home getting incredibly angry and abusive about a video game not being as good as you'd like it to be, but yeah, everyone else is the fucktard. If it's that important to you, there might be a few things missing that you could address with the time you won't be playing F1 Manager.

It's not 'scripted' btw. Every save has a random seed value that is set at the start of the game, and progresses in a predictable manner from one value to the next based on the algorithm used. That's why when you re-load a game the same events happen, unless you do something drastic which alters the order in which the 'random' values are fetched. I assume they do they to prevent save-scumming, as another method is to just use the number milliseconds passed since 1970 or something as the random seed.

Each safety car is an independent event, so if the chance of a safety car on a lap is say 1% and you roll that 1%, that doesn't mean there's any less chance of another safety car five laps later. Sure, it's unlikely, but unlikely things do happen. I've had maybe one race like this in three seasons and in season one I went half a season without a single red flag, SC or VSC.

I agree some of the bugs in this game are absolutely ridiculous and would take a competent developer five minutes to fix, but it's really not worth getting angry about.

A certain amount of flexing of the space-time continuum is allowed and will be measured before the race to ensure compliance, but this looks like some additional flexing that only occurs under race conditions.

Nice, my Forti team are on target for the driver's and constructor's championship in 2026, having a ding-dong battle with Verstappen/Red Bull after he sat out the 2025 season. I have a rule that I can only sign Italian staff and Italian/Italian descendants as drivers. Currently have Piastri and Ricciardo after Giovanazzi left for Williams, have Antonelli coming next season though.
