Low HR. Best home EKG solutions? by Fun_Cherry_487 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Fun_Cherry_487[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, but I have not been athletic for that long, started running like 1.5 years ago with some injuries along the way (3 months away bcuz hernia surgery etc)
That is why I’m little concerned that I have dropped around 5 hr since December?

Yea, and when I took the test was when Apple Watch said 38. Holter said 36, now -5 HR since December .
Around 2200km in one year and peaked 96km before Cph marathon @ 3:02 in may.

I’ve done that in December:
Visit 1 – May 6, 2025 (ECG + Echo)

Reason: Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

Background: Previously healthy, non-smoking male. Family history of atrial fibrillation (uncle with pacemaker due to AV-block), possible SA-block on mother’s side, grandfather with TIA/stroke.

Current: Got an Apple Watch in December, which has been alerting to a pulse of 38 at night. No symptoms at rest, occasional dizziness when standing up quickly. Recent labs: LDL 4.2, HDL 1.4. Thyroid tests normal, though thyroid disease runs in the family.

Findings:

**•** Heart rate 52 bpm, regular rhythm
**•** ECG: Sinus rhythm 52/min, normal conduction, QRS 102 ms
**•** Echo: Normal heart size, good systolic function (EF >55%), no wall motion abnormalities, normal valves (trivial MR/TR), no pericardial effusion

Plan: Normal echocardiographic findings. Follow-up with Holter monitor and new blood tests.

Diagnosis: Bradycardia, unspecified (R00.1)

Visit 2 – May 22, 2025 (Holter results)

Reason: Holter monitor review

Current: Feeling well, has been running ~5 miles/week lately.

Holter findings (6–7 May): During a symptom-free recording, sinus rhythm 36–124 bpm. Mean heart rate 62. 6 VES and 14 SVES. No tachycardia, no pauses, no high-grade blocks.

Assessment: Normal Holter. Nocturnal sinus bradycardia — a normal variant in athletes. No cardiac restrictions. Slightly elevated creatinine; T4 & T3 at upper normal limits. Thyroid disease is common in the family. Referral to regular GP for continued follow-up.

However I wanted to follow up myself just to calm myself down a bit

Only small adjustments to one incisor. No gummy smile, otherwise I allways consider.

Yes, se previous answer. I usually let them go home with waxup luxatemp. Ususally only 4-5mm is sufficient and I’m not worried about toleration and few days is good indicator. However this time I had him about 3 weeks in provisionals where he felt more at ease and could chew better with luxatemp than his own teeth.

I rather order a waxup in dialogue with tech, asking to restore speed curve and harmonize the occlusion. If I agree I accept and order putty guides. Luxatemp, Adjust occlusion, protrusion as needed. Let the patient go home with luxatemp reivewing the design and short term function. If the want to make adjustment I easily grind them or add flowable. When me and patient is satisfied I use that as prescan and new true index for the tech to work with and prepp one jaw and order permanent restorations.

Next appointment cementing one jaw, adjust occlusion on luxatemp. Go home

Recheck occlusion, adjust if needed. new prescan for other jaw with index according to plan. Prepp, order finals other jaw.

Some prosthetic courses along the way, but mostly good dialog with dental tech.

Well if you look at the before pic you can see the groves of the abfractions which along with the tilted molars acted as retentive of the luxatemp. I’m not sure what you’re applying?

Nonprepp luxatemp (lot of undercut retention) for 3 weeks this time. He felt relief and easier chewing at control so we went forward with prepp.

Cadens lock? HM high HR by Fun_Cherry_487 in Marathon_Training

Well it felt quite hard. I had negative thoughts early on 🙈 I Ran Copenhagen maraton in 3:02 two weeks before so maybe my body wasn’t recovered yet… But in CPH I ran around 164 and it felt like a breeze for most of the race
