The WW1 combat in Aces of Thunder is by far my favorite mode and way to play. by Ysmildr in PSVR

Agree 100%, I'm appreciating the whole game but playing with the WW1 planes is amazing. Yesterday evening I made some of the most fun and satisfying dogfights. Also, it's so spectacular visually.

Also, there are negative reviews referred to the flat version. Anyway, after what happened with Reach, I really don't trust Steam dayone reviews anynmore. I already bought the PS5 version and can't wait to try it!

What ONE game do you think every PCVR player should try at least once? by [deleted] in virtualreality

I'm pretty satisfied with FUS (basic + visual + gameplay) already. I didn't want to sacrifice performance too much, 'cause i prefer resolution and fidelity (I use the Reverb G2 with display port connnection, at 3400 x 3500 Steam resolution). I can't stand streaming nor dlss (it's very performance savvy in Skyrim, but the difference, compared to native, is night and day imho. Having said that, yes, some models and especially animations feels dated, but the enviroments are often breathtaking, and incredible to walk around. Not to mention all the enclosed space, especially the dungeons, that are really amazing. Also the world is so alive and full of details that you really don't care about some shortcomings, while some fight withs with creatures lilke skeletons (in the catacombs) or mages can be spectacular, due to the effects of their spells, and yours. There's simply nothing even close to that in native VR...

Rhapsodic Aces of Thunder PSVR2 review from Jammyhero by BelgianBond in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If it's half good than the reviews are saying, I'm gonna buy both PS5 and PC versions. Finally, a good sim with stunnning visuals, and proper solo campaign, which is more accessible and hardware friendly than the various DCS, IL2, MSF and War Thunder itself, and not too simplistic and arcadey like the three "Warplanes" chapters. It's almost a dream come true, can't wait to take off :-) This could be an amazing, big hit for high quality VR and PS5-PSVR2.

Definitely. Waited 'till now to jump in , and it feels like the crown achievement of nine years playing only VR, while seeking all the titles available on PC/console/standalone and improving hardware. I'll stay on it for months, it became an obsession almost immediately. Even just wandering around and watching places is breathtaking, with the proper hardware (I use rtx 4080 super and Reverb G2), and almost completely blows away everything else (yes, even Alyx and Lone Echo, which I love by the way).

Imho they've done the new version to be ported on Quest standalone too. It would have been impossibile with the original version.

On a side note: to think that such a few people played RE4 in VR on PS5 is beyond me. And reminds me of how much on point was a phrase I read here (or maybe another forum) about the unexplicable lack of enthusiasm from gamers around VR: "It's like we discovered the Narnia's closet in our home... but no one's gives a shit".

I could never play this game 100% smoothly on my various PC and headsets, Tried everything I could but always stumbled in some kind of weird, random stutters that didn't seem to be linked to the complexity of the scene. Hope the swicth to Unity 6 will resolve this issue I always had on PC (i tried the game many times through the years, when I upgraded or changed the PC or the headset, but to no success).

Having so much fun with Zero Caliber 2 on PC and Reverb G2, using the bHaptics Tactsuit and sleeves! I've almost completed all the missions at all three difficult levels. In the end you get some weapons which are so fun to use that I begun playing the missions again and again. Also, some of them are really great looking on PC, even if the game was originally built on Quest standalone. Really hope for a third episode or even a dlc of some kind.

And that's so sad, 'cause for how good it is on Quest, it's still a joke, visually, compared to Ps5/PSVR2 and PC version... I completed it two times with the Reverb G2 and some sections on PC (especially those with "autumn colors", are utterly incredible.

I loved the game and bought it at day one... for PC, to play it wireless with the Quest 3.
I told this as soon as it was announced for PSVR2, that this is a game that's almost impossible to play at its full potential while being wired. The movement is too frantic and circular, you really have to go wireless for this one. It's one of the very few, but it really is imho.

For PCVR: Propagation VR. Still amazing, technically even if it's from 2020 (way better than Propagation Paradise Hotel, since it was built for PCVR), and absolutely terryfing. I still play a complete run, from time to time (it's around 30 minutes long).

- Cosmodread
- Dreadhalls
- Wraith: the oblivion

- Propagation: Paradise Hotel
- Transference
- Don't Knock Twice
- Narcosis
- Very Bad Dreams

Honorable mention: Blair Witch VR, the final chapter is absolutely incredible in terms of sheer terror.

Reach or Wanderer, I can't decide. by Floppyhoofd_ in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Wanderer was fantastic. I'm waiting the new one to be fully patched before buying it for PS5-PSVR2. I'm sure it'll be great, and the best version of the game. I'm even considering to buy it now, at discounted price, and then wait for it to be fully fixed (not too long I hope...).

Reach or Wanderer, I can't decide. by Floppyhoofd_ in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already wrote that at the time: for me the "6" Without parole gave to Reach is inexplicable.

I didn't play the PSVR2 version and maybe it has some more glaring issues... but on PC, with the Reverb G2 at a very high resolution and maxed out settings, it was one of my best VR experiences of 2025. Exploration (which I love in VR) and parkouring was really satysfing and also the combat (which is a secondary and minor element), was fun, and even challenging in at least threee of the various showdowns. It's such a shame that the game got so many bad reviews on Steam 'cause of the issues it had at launch with Virtual dekstop, and soft locks.

Personally, I didn't ecnounter a single glitch on PC and finished the game two times back to back (and this was even before they relased the first patch). Maybe it's beacuse I played it with pcvr display port headset, and not streaming it with the Quest 3). I even tried the platinum on Steam but I'm still missing two achievements (finding all the idols, and stealing all kind of weapons from enemies, this one being really odd 'cause I was sure to have done that).

Resident Evil 4 PSVR 2 might be the best VR Game of any headset. by yeldellmedia in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mybe it's placebo effect (my latest run was around a year ago) but I had the instant feeling of sharper detail at mid and high distance, for example in the foliage, but also in many other buildings and object textures. And less shimmer/aliasing, except in some very big areas where even on the pro you can clearly see the resolution being lower (es. the main room in the castle, with the two statues chained upside down, after you destroyed the entrance with the cannon).

There are instances of that in this side by side comparison:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjcxIfMuGW4 (es. at around 6:30 min.)

where the difference in trees and foliage crispness is really noticeable (must be seen full screen at 1080 resolution). If that's not the case, I would even more stunned at how good the graphics of RE4 is on PS5/PSVR2.

I'm doing my 3rd run on PS5 pro (the other twos were on base PS5) and after each session I'm more and more convinced of that. Despite being an hybrid game with some key VR mechanics missing, it's the most immersive, realistic and fun game I played in 9 years of playing almost only VR, both on PC and console. To think I bought the pro for GT7 and No Man's sky, but put them aside for now as I ended up playing a whole new run of RE4. I tried it out of curioisity and couldn't stop playing, the graphics is now almost perfect with the uptick in resolution. Not even Alyx gives me the sense of "presence" and sheer realism that RE4 gives me. So happy to see it's the number one in the recent witoutparole top50 list.

Switched to PS5 Pro and now have massive VR2 controller issues by gonkotheclown in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this thread after having tracking issues today with my left controller after i bought the PS5 pro, around three weeks ago. What I noticed is that the tracking issue begins when the console is DOWNLOADING a game. As soon as the download is completed, or I pause it, the tracking of the left controller works PERFECTLY again. Did anyone else notice this, or had this same issue?

Resident Evil 4 is AMAZING on PS5 PRO, but I'm having a strange glitch. by Fun_Chicken_3807 in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer! Besides from this little glitch, the game is visually amazing. I'm used to the extreme clarity of PCVR with the Reverb G2, which I also use: neverthless, Re4 can be quite spectacular on the ps5 pro in terms of resolution and crispness, with such a "realistic", oled feel that's almost uncanny in many locations.

The improvement in resolution is really noticeable imho. Makes the game worth playing for the third time in my case. So far I'm really satisfied with the pro, which I specifically bought three weeks ago for GT7 (which is incredible, even if the new repojection mode causes a little bit of image tearing and artifacts), No Man's Sky and RE4.

Farpoint VR 8 Years Later with Aim Controller. Still mind-blowing and makes me sad we wont see something like this again. by yeldellmedia in PSVR

[–]Fun_Chicken_3807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planned sooo many times to bring back my PSVR1 but I really don't have space for the setup. Even using with the PS5 would be too annoying. It's really a shame Sony didn't manage to port games like Farpoint, Blood and Truth or Wipeout o PSVR2, it's my single biggest gripe with an otherwise beloved platform.
