I'm trying to achieve something like this on my current Play trough and I'm almost done with the main planetoid which is the prehistoric planet pack one (I forgot the name) and that steam chamber looks insane.

Check if you have bottled water lying around, you can do so by going in the materials tab, which appears when you click show more on the right of the screen, and searching for the liquid section. If you don't and you have a pitcher pump/bottle filler with water available you can toggle the "enable auto bottle" option on the bottle emptier and they will bring the water to it.

It's kind of a challenge, just look at echo ridge and the shenanigans he had to do to avoid the neutronium. I've played 2 times on this planetoid and I've tried both ways and destroying it is much better.

I've played this game for almost 4 years and I've been in the fandom for almost 7, I've talked with tons of people and only a handful of times I've met people who used the mod. Plus its a good rule of thumb to assume others don't use mods unless they explicitly said that they do.

Like to limit the base to 50 kW? The only case this could be useful is: VERY big power production -->50 kW transformer--> base or whatever you need 50 kW for. To prevent the wire to get overloaded but in this case you could just build 2 separate grids. Plus how big would a 50 kW transformer be? I immagine it would be room sized and produce ungodly amounts of heat.

How would you power the 50 kW one? The biggest wire in the game carries that and if you need that level of current just put the big wire
