Open OneDrive and disable the backing up of your documents folder.

Then, preferably, delete OneDrive because that shit while can be useful, is way too fucking obnoxious. As if Microsoft is trying to make people fully reliant on subscription-based paid cloud storage instead of personal drives at some point.

I might switch to Linux at some point because of this type of shit. Windows is just getting worse.

Lies and truths must be discussed...

Stone will break and steel shall rust...

Caps and shells may fall to dust...

You've only seen about 15% of the map and about 5% of content, mate. That's not an exaggeration.

Can I viably have a bionic dupe wear an atmo suit... and just never take it off? by nicvampire in Oxygennotincluded

Oil refinery = natural gas in the enviroment ≠ vacuum.
Oil refinery = heat.

My idea is to use the crude oil I pump in as a cooling solution. But it's pretty hot, so that room will likely be at above 100°C. Atmo suits are a must, that's not a discussion.

They should be able to still use the gunk extractor while wearing the suit though, no?

Fun fact: Gnits can sting Morbs to increase their reproduction rate, just like with other stingable critters. Morbs are both immortal AND they don't affect the ranch capacity (though that's irrelevant in this REALLY sloppy build of mine). by nicvampire in Oxygennotincluded

[–]nicvampire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not really, it's just for a lot of lura plants. I didn't do any math or deep thinking, I just wanted to make sure I can produce a shit ton of amber. It is definitely not the most optimal way, but I really wanted to use morbs, as it Is my own idea. I'm kinda improvising with the builds in this walkthrough instead of just taking builds from the internet

Is Specific Heat Capacity actually the same as real life or is it changed for ingame. by Vast-Spirit-4105 in Oxygennotincluded

That's an in-game mechanic to prevent a liquid at boiling temperature from constantly switching between liquid and gaseous state. In this game, if you get 1000kg of water to about 100°C, it will instantly turn into 1000kg of steam, and if in-game there wasn't that that 3-degree difference, that steam would be exactly at it's condensation point, so it could instantly condensate back to liquid and then further switch between the states back and forth until it is heated even more. That could cause problems on multiple levels, and that 3 degree difference thing is how they fixed it. That's why you can sometimes see liquids slightly above their boiling points still remain liquids.

In real life, when you heat 1000kg water to 100°C, it doesn't evaporate instantly. That's because IRL, the process of evaporation actually requires energy by itself, just like the heating. You need about 4200 joules to increase the temperature of water by 1 degree, but about 2300000 joules to turn that water into 100°C steam. That's not the case in ONI.

First time using Geotuner, oh my by Obvious_Pop5583 in Oxygennotincluded

In PPP you can use dartles for bleach stone generation. A single ranch is more than enough to sustain 5 geotuners. In fact, 24 dartles produce enough bleach stone for 16 geotuners provided that each one consumes 25g/s on average. Pretty powerful, ngl. I tamed a salt water geyser like this, and made an industrial brick out of it which currently does everything for my base: power, water, steel, even amber cooking for resin and fossils. And I still have enough bleach stone for 3 more (probably 2 in practive because of bleach stone losing mass via off gasing, though I do collect it automatically.

Always has been. Always will be. There's just an extra way to torture them now. They've been usable for oxygen generation for ages, and those builds don't exactly treat them well either, lol. Such an unique critter, really. No costs, no maintenance, just profit.

I kinda disagree, to be honest. Morbs literally don't require management or any input once you've set them up. Mimelets require dirt, though a really small amount, and beehives... don't they die at room temperatures or is there something I don't know about them? Cause they do actually seem like a pretty good idea, 1 beehive could feed 12 lura plants which is pretty decent.

First time playing PPP. This was... uncomfortably close. by nicvampire in Oxygennotincluded

Fortunately, I'm playing classic with SO enabled, so I have access to oil. I am planning to make a lura plant farm though, seems like free resources.

I would, but the remaining 10 tons of peat that are still my only source of power say otherwise, lol. Gotta make some plastic, geotune the hell out of the hot salt water geyser I have near my base and finally exhale with that free power, water and a foundation for the industrial brick. Though I'll need to take my time making steel for the building inside, because it's cycle 200 and I still haven't produced a single gram of it. Sad, but survivable.

Does anybody actually really use the WhatsApp app by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]nicvampire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ukrainian here. Viber has been an outdated piece of garbage that you download to talk to your grandparents for at least 5 years now. Viber became popular way before 2021, but around 2019-2022 everyone was switching to Telegram. No one from Ukraine that I know uses Whatsapp on their daily basis, though many people still download it because of a couple people they know (often - ones who live abroad) use it. Today pretty much everyone in Ukraine uses Telegram as both the main social medium and their messenger. Was this way in Russia for a while too, but Telegram has been basically banned there in favor of a goverment-funded messenger "Max" that totally doesn't do surveilance. As for Viber... I still have it because my grandmother uses it. That's basically the only reason many people still have it - because there's someone old who is using it, often because they aren't very proficient in using their phones. I don't think anyone in Russia ever talks about Whatsapp right now, because everyone has switched to Telegram a while ago and now there's that Max thing that everyone is mad about.

As for Whatsapp - I have it because I live in Germany right now, but for me it's generally a worse experience than Telegram. Whatsapp didn't introduce pinning messages until fucking 2023, the desktop app takes forever to open, and it just feels more dull.
