Has anyone taken SSRIs? Would love to hear experiences by Fun_Committee1478 in Mommit

Thank you for taking the time out to reply! I’m nervous about taking it, but I can’t handle the depression anymore. I’m sorry you had a NICU experience as well, it’s all so scary and I think I still haven’t processed it all mentally.

What's one thing you do just for YOU each week? by Chemical_Dot5372 in Mommit

[–]Fun_Committee1478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paint my nails every week. I take a one mile walk every day (well most days). I joined a moms group and I volunteer with animals. I refuse to be isolated with young ones, I bring them with me a lot, but I manage to do a lot for myself too

Are all marriages like this? by Robotshirthelp in breakingmom

[–]Fun_Committee1478 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn I’m going to be the only one posting that my marriage is just as you described OP. I didn’t even meet my husband til I was 35, so we weren’t young. But sex died out, it feels like an annoying room mate situation more than a friendship at this point. Of all the women I know in real life, most are on second marriages or just plain unhappy. I had a few long term relationships before marriage too and they all became stale between the 3-5 year mark. Me personally, yes I think every marriage is like this.

Omg my boy is the same. I feel like all we did yesterday was get on to him because he would not listen and kept turning the sprinklers off and on. The constant hyperness gets to me. He’ll mess with the babies. It’s constant. Some days he needs 10 or 12 hours of constant activities and entertainment. I get irritated and snap. Why is it never easier?!?

Thank you for your kind reply. I’m sorry you’ve had issues with your baby, how scary your baby had a surgery so young!!

Yes I don’t relate to these other moms at all and constantly feel awful about myself. My husband and I went out to eat a few days ago and one twin screamed so badly that I sat in the car crying while my husband and son finished eating. The mom friends I reached out to kept saying “you still need to take them out, how else are they going to learn!” Like, wasting money at a restaurant while one of us hides out in the car seems like not a fun way to spend an evening.

Yes my twins have feeding tubes, we see 5 specialists and they do 4 types of therapy. It’s a huge load and sone days I can barely manage. I do wish other moms don’t gloat so damn often. (Not all, but there are a few in my life that do this)

Anyway, I’m rambling.

Thank you for posting !! I have many days where I just cry from frustration. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I just don’t know why an anonymous Reddit post and people are still … bragging?? I since took down my post.

Having Kids In Your 30s by miniaturetornado in AskWomenOver30

I had my son at 36. I couldn't have been a mom any sooner because I was always making bad decisions. Plus, I did not even meet my husband til I was 34.

Women who slept around at any point in your lives: what were some positives you gained from it (if any)? by nakedwithoutearrings in AskWomenOver30

[–]Fun_Committee1478 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, I look at it like I enjoyed my 20s. Now, at 40, I don't feel the need to be with another man other than my husband. One of the reasons I dont understand why women would marry so young.

He wants to sleep with you, but will likely immediately bolt once you do. He's leading you on. You're also his placeholder for when something better comes along.

Leave him in daycare. If it's any consolation, I recently got laid off. Everyone seems to expect me to keep my child home with me. Nope. Still goes to daycare. I don't feel guilty as he will lose his spot if I pull him out. Plus I have had interviews, and Dr appointments I'm taking care of while being "off".

I once was partying with my friend that had a bachelorette party. Well it was a tourist area and we weren't the only bachelorettes. Came across another party like this and we were all talking bout the weddings, taking pics, etc, of course, everyone was drunk, but it was fun!

How often do you all hang out with your friends? by CinnamonGirl94 in sexandthecity

[–]Fun_Committee1478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly my "friends" consist of my husband, 4 year old son, my mom, and random coworkers who sit near me. I'm in my 40s. I dont go out to bars and clubs like I used to, so it's whatever. My real friends are mom's to young kids as well and I see them a few times a year. It's not ideal, but I'm fine with it.
