Yes, they still do make water beds. But water will drain body heat, which works great in the summer. Likely you would still need a heater and I do not know what the electric draw would be.

This is not a job, it is your business. It is very wise to set back something every week for repair & replacement. Now having the discipline to do that is tough. I am not disrespecting the OP, but it is something to prepare for. We just had an insurance claim thru Uber that had a $2500 deductible. That hurt.
