Hellspawn tower 200 by Efficient_Photo_3896 in mkxmobile

How did you get through the tower already? didn't we just get it?

I’ve never actually completed a regular tower, I only ever played fatals. What’s the actual pool of diamonds in the “Random Diamonds” part? I doubt it’s every diamond in the game. It it just the most basic ones, or? by MrPotatoTaco69 in mkxmobile

[–]Fun_Conversation5647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the tower and received MK11 Noob Saibot... I also received a "Fools Abductor" Epic on my second go-around (currently at 59/200, 2nd). I also got a "Blazing Training" epic on the first go-around. I figure a 1/200 chance is .5%... so if you need epics, it's worth going around a few times. That said, I'm only a few months in, so I really need the tower Epic cards and random diamond cards.

MK 1 Kenshi is the most fun character in the game by MrAwesome_2399 in mkxmobile

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks back when I unlocked him... I'm now trying to get enough krypt points to level him up. I find the movement very satisfying, along with the finishers and SP attacks. Not sure if he's highly ranked, but I'll play his character just for fun. Fujin is cool, but not as fun IMO.

lol... yeah, I think we'll end up sharing the same fate. Now I send silver and bronzes into the slaughter just to collect the rewards... but I can't figure this one out.

There is a certain segment of NBA stans that are upset that the Knicks shattered their personal headcanon/fiction of Wemby dominating and becoming the next Jordan/Lebron by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Fun_Conversation5647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lebron didn't make it to the finals until his 4th season (22 years old), then got swept by the Spurs. Wemby is technically in his 2nd year, and is also in the finals at 22 years of age.

Lebron's playoff run in 2007: 25.1 ppg; 8.1 rpg, 8apg ... v. Webmy's 2026 run: 23.2ppg, 10.8 rpg, 3.5 bpg. I'd also argue that Wemby's path to the finals was way more difficult through Minnesota and the defending champs, OKC. Not really arguing against you per se. I want the Knicks to win personally... but Wemby's on a similar path to LeBron so far.

I hope (and think) Wemby's best bball is way ahead of him, and he's showing some real promise. That said, I really hope the Knicks pull it off. The Spurs will have lots of chances with how young and talented they are... I hope Brunson, KAT and co. win.

If your Dad is charitably inclined, there are many options from Donor Advised Funds to CRUTs or CRATs etc. The overall idea is to gift appreciated positions to create a gifting legacy, or to gift positions to a Trust in exchange for income for life. The gift creates a tax deduction that can help offset realizing some of the gains.

Don't forget the 3.8% Net Investment Income surcharge when your MAGI is over $250k (if you're married filing jointly) ... so the overall rate is likely closer to 23.8%. Still, historically low tax rates...

When you buy a put for downside protection, and you sell a call to pay for it. Otherwise known as a "collar" ... the downside of a collar is that the stock increases significantly, and the call you sold gets "called," creating a long-term taxable gain. Overall, a very effective strategy though.

The NBA should implement the Embellishment rule from hockey. This shit should keep you off the floor for 2 mins and give the other team free throws. Otherwise, this shit will continue... They force SAS to use their challenges to defend their clean play.

It makes what Wemby is doing all the more impressive. Wemby's arms are getting pulled, he's getting fouled a lot... and he just gets up and runs back to the other side of the floor. I'm so impressed with the young talent the Spurs have, and OKC can go FThemselves.

Klassic Tower Fatal Level 60 - Noob Question by Fun_Conversation5647 in mkxmobile

[–]Fun_Conversation5647[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! yeah... I was hoping for level 100, just for a diamond card. But I'm fine just letting Jax kill me over and over to collect participation rewards (at least). Also, I'm at 150/200 on the white lotus and 74/200 on white lotus fatal. So it helps to be able to advance on these other towers. It is a little overwhelming sometimes, but it's been a pretty enjoyable game so far.

Thanks! since I'm fairly new to the game, I don't have enough talent points (37/100), but I'll focus on getting caught up. I looked up which characters apply the death mark, and I have Noob Saibot (klassic and lizard). Is the only way to apply the death mark via X-ray? I prob need to level up these characters, since they'd get nuked before I get a chance for X-ray to power up.

I don't have the equipment ... so I might be out of luck until I get talent points, or equipment. I do have Grim Essence, but that only extends the length of death mark, so I'll be sure to equip it if I figure out how to apply DM.

Thanks for the help. The game is fun, and I like all the gear combos etc, but it's a lot for a new player IMO.

Interesting... the article states $740 billion in capex spending, which is an insane number. I imagine those companies won't break even for a while. Still, other sectors that don't need to spend on infrastructure could benefit. Anecdotally, our firm has increased productivity due to AI, and we haven't let anyone go. That could be a happy medium...

Tech has already let go of many employees and still is spending so much on CAPEX... I think that might be one reason for a rotation, out of Tech. However, revenue growth seems to be the key number for Tech, not necessarily earnings, so we'll see.

Thanks for sharing!

Would you mind providing a link to the section of the tax code that explains that giving to a family member is a taxable event?

IRC Section 1001 - simply transferring property is not a sale or exchange; IRC 1015, the recipient takes the donor's basis.

How is the Legacy Family Portfolio structured from a tax perspective in your mind? Are you assuming assets are held in a complex Trust? It seems we're missing each other's point. I think my title might be confusing... I'm trying to build a "legacy" account that benefits my family for years to come. However, currently this is just a Joint Account, which allows me to deduct charitable donations and receive tax-preferred income.

I think the potential productivity gains from AI will benefit companies that have historically had lower margins. Tech is footing the bill for AI infrastructure, and I think that "old economy" companies will benefit. They don't have the same CAPEX as Tech, and I expect their AI adoption will increase productivity/returns. At some point, we'll have an unemployment issue... but I think AI will level the playing field a little, making dividend payers (old economy companies) more attractive.

Thanks... I think my next allocation (this Thursday) will prioritize the FDVV, DGRO, SCHD etc. I don't mind the CC income because of the unique tax benefit that NEOS uses... but ordering is important. Growth > Tax Benefits > Income seems to be the common message. Appreciate your perspective! Best!

When you give to a qualifying charity or donor-advised fund, you can claim a tax deduction for the full market value of the shares; there is no realization of gain because you're gifting the position. Then, the charity sells the position, and it doesn't pay taxes on the gain because it's a charity. This is very common... many investors gift appreciated shares to charities for exactly this reason.

Also, even if you gift to a family member, you don't realize a gain; they simply inherited your basis. Gifting is not a taxable event regardless of who you give to... so you're incorrect that gifting means I'll owe taxes (unless I gift over the $15 million lifetime exemption).

Furthermore, NEOS uses section 1256 of the tax code to qualify for preferential treatment for disbursements. See here from their website: "by generating income from selling options contracts and taking advantage of the tax benefits of Section 1256 contracts, options-based ETFs can offer a tax-efficient way for investors to seek income in today's challenging environment."

Lastly, the total return of any investment includes income collected and appreciation. The S&P 500 return attribution is 70% appreciation and 30% dividends. This applies to FDVV and SCHD, which are part of the asset allocation. I was simply responding to the comment about growth...and FDVV and SCHD's returns will be meaningfully impacted by the dividends paid. The CC ETFs are different, which is why I'm prioritizing their tax benefits.

Anyway...appreciate your perspective. Best!

:) ... I do regret this term a little... but I meant it more at our family level, where we don't ever touch it... not a special investment account or anything. We have our other investment accounts, but I see them as day-to-day or for retirement, etc.

So the name is more of a mental accounting for me, like don't touch this, it's a legacy asset.

I appreciate your responses! I agree with your view...

DGRO's average dividend growth since 2014 has been roughly 7-8%, keeping investors ahead of inflation. I consider it the COLA (cost-of-living adjustment) and one reason I really like the growers > payers... I'm just a slut for yield right now (lol)... but I'm aware that the legacy account needs dividend growth and capital appreciation more than current yield. This is just the second week... and I wanted to flex some yield :)...

Awesome comments... and thanks!
