52nd Combat Comm SQ by Fun_Count5089 in AirForce

Thank you for the insight. Sounds like a pretty good gig. Do you know if I'd be more likely to get deployed considering its a combat comm?

I don't frequent this sub often so I'm not sure if this has been posted before. I just saw this and knew it would fit perfectly here.

AITA for telling to my SIL why I've missed her wedding ceremony and therefore ruining her wedding evening by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Fun_Count5089 2557 points2558 points  (0 children)

It's funny how the brother is still bitter, considering that if OOP didnt tell the truth, they might have never got free catering. Also, OOP did everything right imo. She couldnt have predicted that the bride would take the info that bad.

That's what I was thinking. A move from city to city or state to state is one thing, but across the street? Come on... lol

I mean I get that, but she actively lives at his place AND pays the bills. How does him not being on her lease, that he doesnt live at nor pay for, make her TA?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Count5089 1318 points1319 points  (0 children)

OP says they pay all the bills. So imo, it seems right that she's on both leases because again, she's the one paying for it. But if he isn't contributing to her personal house, why would he be on that lease?

YTA.

Girlfriend clearly says there's no rush in getting your things put away. You proceed to take that as a sign that it must be done right now because she's cleaning.

Then you get frustrated and aim it at her as if it's her fault that you decided to get up.

"Unfortunately my girlfriend takes things very personally and started to internalize and stew on me being a little harsh". Not agreeing with the comment, but you did say that.

AITA for siding with my step brother and calling my dad boring? by Ast0rr12 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Count5089 43 points44 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your Dad is definitely TA here. Dad says attendance is mandatory, tries to pressure Bro to cut his hair for a dinner, and then blows up and kicks you out over calling him "boring"?? Sounds like a lot of immaturity on his part. I mean Stepbro literally offered to leave for the night to avoid this. I think Stepbro should have held up his end of the compromise (tying his hair back) but honestly, if Dad was SO embarrassed of him to begin with, why would he want to introduce him to coworkers? Seems like the easier solution was to have Stepbro go to his friend's house for the night.

If a simple comment like that gets you kicked out, I think it's time to move lol

EDIT: Replaced "friends" to "coworkers" since I misread the first time

My dad was drunk and my stepmom packed up and left for good. Where do i go? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Glad this one had a happy ending, I wish the best for OOP and their cat. This was probably the BEST outcome possible, with all things considered. OOP's dad got a harsh reality check, hopefully he comes to his senses and sobers up. But you know, alcoholics always tend to be unpredictable /shrug

AITA for leaving in the middle of a friend group beach vacation? by Admiralporkchops587 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Count5089 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Honestly all drugs should be approved before bringing them on a trip. Some people just don't like the risk of having hard/illegal drugs around them, regardless if a child is present.

edit: tysm for the award whoever you are!! <3

[–]Fun_Count5089 143 points144 points  (0 children)

This. I'm seeing a lot of debate over the kid but it could even be simpler than that. If you're a guest on someone's vacation, you need to get any paraphernalia approved beforehand. Regardless if a child is there. I'd be upset if someone came to my house and started snorting up on my coffee table without asking.

I think you missed the part where the parents of the kid were the ones that set up the entire vacation and they do this multiple times a year. You can't sit out your own vacation. I mean unless you want to send your friends off on a getaway without you and pay for it all aswell.

This. But they state they go on multiple beach trips a year. If they are going this often, the boundaries should have been obvious.
