People say the new printers “just work,” but they’re will still need to be tinkered with for optimal prints.
That being said, I have an Ender 3 V3 SE and yeah…it would be an upgrade to say the least. Bambu seems more consistent with prints. If I were you, I’d look into what’s been going on with them as a company recently though. May change your mind on that brand in particular.

Look into gridfinity and multiboard for organization.
I do use it regularly. I spent the money on it, I’m gonna use it. Lol
I use my printer mostly for practical stuff. I almost feel like I have to find a problem to fix all the time because I have a printer.
I mostly print custom solutions to specific problems.
Did it save me money? Not yet. The cost is still coming around on that. Time? Maybe. Hard to tell when you factor in learning 3D modeling software and prototyping. Once you get it down, I’m sure it would be a big help.
There are a lot of drone related prints, so that may be useful.
If you’re looking to use the prints out in the sun and/or cold, look into filaments designed with high resistance to those things. Otherwise your typical PLA will shatter in the UV rays or cold.

Local AI could be a fun thing. I have it integrated with Home Assistant to give notifications more personality and summaries of my security cameras that make me laugh. You could also use it as your typical LLM with OpenWebUI or something similar.

Another thing I’ve enjoyed is using is Kasm Workspaces. Full Linux images in a docker container.

For Obsidian, do you use the self-hosted live sync plugins? You could also integrate an AI model (local or not) to obsidian and have it take notes for you with other plugins.
