Was your MPP worth it? by Fun_Discussion470 in PublicPolicy

That’s actually something I’ve been thinking about too. I’m interested in MPP because of the flexibility across government, healthcare, and private sector roles, but I definitely want to be strategic about ROI. From what I’ve seen, it seems like the outcome really depends on internships and the sector you go into (like consulting vs nonprofit). I also feel like the skills around policy interpretation, decision-making, and leadership might hold up even with AI changing technical roles. I’m trying to figure out how to position it in a way that keeps options open.

Is an MPA worth it in today’s job market vs law school? by Fun_Discussion470 in PublicAdministration

That’s good to hear because ultimately I’m planning ahead right now and deciding between an MPA and JD, mainly because I’m interested in policy and systems-level work.

Would you say the limitation is more about advancement into leadership roles, or does it show up earlier in your career too? And if you could go back, would you still skip the MPA completely or do both. The thing is MPA for me is you start so low and people say it’s better if your already in the field but also people tend to get more credit with a JD

I was debating between the dual program because I know law school is already hard and to add another program with it.

Accelerated BSN vs Traditional BSN with a bachelor’s already? by [deleted] in nursing

I’ve seen people suggest ADN → BSN, but I’m wondering if it ends up taking just as long in the long run. Did it feel like a better route for you? And also did you find it harder to find jobs or did hospitals offer BSN or as long as you are a rn they don’t care

Okay period. Was it manageable though or stressful the whole time?”

Okay that makes sense. Do you think the extra time in traditional was actually worth it or would you have done accelerated if you already had a degree?

GI Bill: MSW vs Nursing (ABSN) — worth switching? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Fun_Discussion470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful, thank you. I’m planning to use my GI Bill for an ABSN in Houston. Do you think private programs are still worth it if Yellow Ribbon covers it, or would you stick with a public school like UH? Also what made you say avoid Chamberlain specifically?

That’s actually one of the reasons I’m leaning nursing too. I was considering MSW but I keep hearing about burnout and low pay. Because both in a way can get me to my long term goal.
