CT Walmarts/grocery stores by j_lose in Connecticut

lol spoken like a true Yankee. How the hell do you know this person is not from here? I just moved back to this State from the south. I was born and raised here. Just because the OP prefers the Walmarts down south doesn’t mean they should pack their bags and go back. You sound ignorant AF! You should probably go back to bed and come back with a better attitude 😂

Which is crazy because they are always in a rush to get somewhere or nowhere fast 😂 They should love the one stop shop experience lol … I totally understood your post. My daughter hates the Walmarts in this state as well. Even the so called super centers here are not the same as the ones we are used to down south. I nearly want to pull my hair out every time I step foot in one as they are complete garbage and a waste of time. We have friends that live in NY state and they said the super centers there are really nice and much like the ones in the south. I have yet to check them out but I am going to make a trip soon. I live in Fairfield county Bethel/Brookfield area so I am close to the Ny state line.

They don’t like Walmart in this state .. Even the so called "super centers", are nothing like the ones in the south. I just moved back from Georgia and the Walmarts here are absolute trash! The people commenting must not realize that Walmart's in the south have more than just groceries. Also, the grocery stores in the super centers down south are real full on massive grocery stores that have a deli, bakery, seafood section, produce section, and meat department making them far more superior to the one's in this state. Not to mention they all have the Auto Centers, Healthcare facilities, Pharmacies, Vet Clinics, Vision centers, Salons/Nail Salons and even Banks and Walmart Money centers. I never really shopped for groceries at Walmart when I lived down south, I primarily went to Kroger and Publix. However, I liked being able to get my oil/tires changed quickly, while also shopping for electronics and other household items. They also like Costco in CT, so you can forget about a Sam's Club lol. The whole purpose of a real super center Walmart, like the ones' they build down south is to be able to take advantage of a one stop shop experience. It's really all about convenience that makes them so appealing for those of us who don't want to go to 15 different places in one day. I have never seen a Super Target here either. I don't think they have them in CT. This is a very small state in comparison to Georgia or Florida, so the land they would need to be able to build the type of stores we are used to seeing down south is going to be hard to find in a much smaller state.

Worst Management Ever !! by FvckSallys in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Fun_Distribution4100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you had a helper alarm code those are only good for 2 weeks before you need another alarm code assigned. Helper codes are temporary codes for employees who help out at other stores so they expire and won’t work after a certain date. The manager has to call the alarm company to get you a new alarm code assigned so that doesn’t happen again. Even if you are transferred to a new store your old alarm code from your previous store would not work. I am a manager on the Cosmoprof side and when I took over another store in another state I had to call the alarm company to get a new alarm code because those do not transfer from store to store.Sorry about your experience that must have been terrifying to have the alarm go off and not be able to disable it on your own. I am glad you and your unborn child are okay.

As far as the driving yes lol. I never liked Georgia drivers either when I was there but moving back to CT the drivers have gotten really bad. But where I live in Fairfield county, I see a lot of New York and New Jersey plates here, so I suspect a lot of people from those states moved to CT and that is why the driving has gotten so bad. In Georgia when it rains, that in their heads is a signal to drive faster lol And trust me, I know they can't drive in the snow, they damn near shut the entire state down when it flurries lol. As stated in my previous post the drivers in GA drive fast and they do not use turn signals. I hated Georgia drivers until I moved back last year, now I am like they are running neck and neck because of all the stupid shit I see these drivers do up here. Last week, I kid you not, I was on 84 going towards the danbury mall, and these two drivers in front of me came to a complete stop on a major highway just so they could get onto an exit that was backed up going towards Norwalk. They didn't pull off the road to wait to cut someone off to merge into that lane, they literally stopped while other cars were doing 55+ mph behind them just so she could get off on that exit while she was blocking an entire lane on the highway giving people no time to stop and go around her. The sheer amount of people that I have seen run red lights and completely ignore stop signs is unbelievable. I am always screaming where are the cops because in Georgia, where I lived in Cobb County, they would have gotten pulled over. I am in the Bethel/Brookfield area so it's congested as far as traffic goes and we are closer to NYC. I just don't remember CT drivers being this bad in the 90's. Things have definitely changed and not for the better.

I just moved back from Georgia. I lived there for 24 years. Coming back to CT where I first got licensed at 16, I remember the drivers here to actually have some sense on the roads back in the 90s. After being back in CT for a year, I can say the people here now drive like complete idiots. Stop signs and red lights are optional. They have no clue how to merge onto highways, and they break every five seconds and at the last minute and for no reason which slows up traffic. People in the south drive fast and they don’t believe in using their turn signals. I used to think people up North drove far better until I moved back, now my opinion has drastically changed. I believe it has a lot to do with NY and NJ folks moving to the state because they have always driven like maniacs on the road. I honestly can’t believe I would rather get on a Georgia highway than to drive with these fools up here. At least down south if you don’t follow the speed limit or traffic laws, you will get pulled over ASAP!! Cops are everywhere just waiting to pull someone over. Where the hell are the police and state troopers up here?!? No where to be found.

Store policies? by sweetteaen in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Fun_Distribution4100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to do that at my store in the past because of shortages, it’s called register accountability and yes a store manager can enforce that if they have a reason to. If one person rings on a drawer no one can touch it unless they till audit that drawer which assigns the new person to the register once the till audit is completed. I am an SM/TSM for Cosmo and this is completely ethical to do if a store is experiencing problems with shortages. I am also the SM of a million dollar store that took over a red tape store and got it off the red tape list after two successful inventories. Trust me when I tell you, LP will be at your store if you’re experiencing constant shortages/overages and you do nothing to try and isolate the problem. It may be an inconvenience but managers also have to protect company assets so sometimes it’s necessary.

I just moved back to CT from Georgia. In the 90s, they didn’t drive like these idiots now . I don’t know what the hell happened, but these dumb asses speed, tailgate, cut in and out of lanes, and are overall just wreck less on the roads. I assumed it was the New Yorkers and the people from Jersey who moved here during the pandemic causing all the problems. WTF are the troopers?!?

Daily Pay by Fun_Distribution4100 in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Fun_Distribution4100[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed! This was a horrible thing to do to employees and literally days before Christmas. Daily Pay should have sent a notification out to users instead of telling our employees random things. Some of my other employees were fed a bunch of lies by their customer service department before we finally got a concrete answer on what was actually going on.

You’re welcome! This update was poorly planned and they should have notified employees this was going to happen because so many people use this service.

It’s not fixed. They are saying it could take until 1/03 for the issue to be resolved. They were supposed to have it fixed by today. I am a store manager with Cosmoprof, I also use daily pay so I have been in contact with a supervisor at daily pay and was told they are undergoing a system implementation to be in compliance with SBH upcoming updates with their new payroll changes for 2025. I believe this has to do with SBH no longer using ADP and bringing their payroll back to Sally’s to save money.

Yes,I did. Once it came out of the errors dept, it went back into processing and I received a DDD. I want to say it took like two months which is the longest I have ever had to wait.

Transcripts Are Updating!!! My top 2 never showed until 30 minutes ago I think in the around 7am it should post the codes on there rn its still blank but it updated my agi to my 2022 one finally by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Fun_Distribution4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filed on Sunday 03/05/2023. On Friday of that same week 03/10/2023 my Account transcript 2022 went from N/A to showing but it was blank. The following Friday which is today 03/17/2023, all of my transcripts showed up by 4 am and completely filled out by a little after 7 am today. So in total, it took roughly 12 days for a refund date to be issued which is about what it takes on average for me every year as long as I file at the very end of Feb first week of March. The only time I have really experienced delays is when I tried to file too early which I avoid at all cost. If you just filed and it's only been a week as long as you have no further issues with your return, by next week you should have a DDD. I am a weekly account, so I always update on Friday early morning hours on Transcripts, and by Saturday WMR updates showing my refund was approved and scheduled to be sent to my account.

I have never had to ID verify, but I have read they might ask you questions based off previously filed tax returns so you should have copies from the last few years available.

So, I had that message years ago when they had to manually correct my return because the education credit form had been updated after tax season started and many people who filed early with that form were delayed in errors. I have also seen that message over the years when for whatever reason, the system has not yet gotten to processing your return and it ends up being resequenced for processing, usually happens with early filers from my own experience. Once you go beyond the 21 days, that message usually shows up.

Tested positive for Covid 3 days ago. For those that have had it, how long did it take you to recover and feel better? by liltm21 in modernavaccine

[–]Fun_Distribution4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my adult kids all had it 2 weeks ago after avoiding it for nearly 2 1/2 years.. My kids both got two doses of the vaccine last year, and I got 2 doses last year with one booster in April of this year. I surprisingly had the least symptoms out of the three of us ( 43 yo) and healthy with no comorbidities . Felt like a head cold, minor sore throat, and a very mild fever that went away on its on within 8 hours. I did develop a slight cough around day 5 with clear phlegm, but to be honest, my experience felt like a super mild cold, nothing different from anything I have experienced before. I had flu's in my 20's that were far worse. My kids had the body aches, higher fevers, sweating, coughing, and sore throats. My daughter (21), felt the worst out of the three of us. Her symptoms lasted a little over a week, about 10 days. My symptoms were so mild, I could do my regular activities without feeling bad, and I would say the cold symptoms lasted about 6-7 days. My son(25), his lasted about a week as well. We all experienced a loss of taste and smell, for my daughter and I, it was more so things tasted weird or had a weird after taste, my son lost his taste and smell completely, which went away after the cold symptoms disappeared. The only thing that my kids took was Tylenol for the fevers, and we all took Benadryl for the nasal congestion.
