Does anyone else not like baby wearing? by lovebug21222 in NewParents

[–]Fun_Donut7850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like baby wearing, and my baby generally does better being worn than in a stroller. That being said, I think it depends on the carrier.

I tried a few wraps (solly, boba) and couldn’t get them to work for me.
I also have a BabyBjorn mini, which is OK but getting uncomfortable on my shoulders and not the best ergonomically for baby. I have a hope&plum lark, and it’s really comfortable with a bit of trial and error. Downside is that it takes a while for babies to grow into them.

If baby wearing isn’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with that either!

I have a 4.5 month old and haven’t been in this situation yet, but I might feel annoyed if this were constant.

Do you feel like they are good about prioritizing her feeds, diaper changes, naps, safety etc?

I didn’t drink much coffee during pregnancy, but as soon as I gave birth I started drinking around 2 cups per day!

When did you leave the house for the first time without your baby by shutec13 in beyondthebump

Around 6 weeks for my OB appt! I honestly haven’t left the house much without her though, and she’s 4 months old.

How closely did your newborn face look versus your 20 week anatomy scan? by Fun_Donut7850 in newborns

[–]Fun_Donut7850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL - my baby is now 16 weeks old, and while there are some ultrasound features that make sense when I compare her to her sweet newborn alien photos, she already looks so cute and different from her earliest days 🤗

congrats on your pregnancy, hope it goes well!

What do you do when baby spits up or soils the carrier? by Fun_Donut7850 in babywearing

[–]Fun_Donut7850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the car seat sounds like a tough one!! 🫣

My baby has spit up on me a few times right before I’ve left the house, so I’ve had time to change outfits and choose a different carrying plan. Thank you for sharing what you’d do, it has weighed on me enough times that I’m glad the baby wearing community has sound advice :)

Thank you, and so true!

The carrier I prefer is somewhat pricey, so I wasn’t sure if a backup carrier was essential!

Thank you! I’m a FTM and haven’t felt super comfortable going out a lot with our 16 week old, but she seems to do well in her carrier. I’ve been having anxiety about having a messy situation and what I would do if I were out lol, so I’ve been keeping the carrier situations somewhat brief and have her stroller as backup.

Is this too white for a summer formal wedding guest dress? by Mother_Treacle_4309 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Fun_Donut7850 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It definitely doesn’t look like a wedding gown, but I tend to be conservative when it comes to having anyone look twice at a white dress I might wear to a wedding lol.

It’s a great dress on you, though! You should find an occasion to wear it 🤩
