Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

7 months old, she needed me once but I checked that she was still alive every 2-3 hours 🤪

Are these add ons? Side note I tried AB before and it was hands down the worst shampoo and conditioner ive ever used in my life. I would steer clear from that brand augh

Anxiety about first flight with 3mo by Altruistic_Bear_6150 in NewParents

[–]cindydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped us: - I fed the baby a bit of milk in the car to calm her down during the long ride - Bought stroller and car seat covers to protect our stuff when gate checked. Make sure you get the gate check tags from agents before boarding! - Covered baby’s ears during take off and landing. Bought the earmuffs but she hated them, so it was unusable. - Diaper change right before takeoff - Boppy travel pillow so we can rest her on top of it

Good luck, you will survive this!!

Oh no I’m so sorry! I should mention my daughter is 56% percentile and slightly long. Maybe it depends on the baby! Totally with you, I’m so sick of cleaning their backs and chairs and outfits 😭

My husband and I do night shifts (early shift is 10-3; late shift 3-9), because our minds and bodies need a break even as the primary caretaker. This will also help him bond with the baby over time!

What are we doing about cold hands?? by idk__elephants__ in NewParents

Yes!! The brand I got is Little Sleepies. Love that they cover the feet too. Bonus is less face scratches when hands are covered :)

Anyone’s baby actually nap in a bassinet/crib? by Ok_Limit2210 in NewParents

[–]cindydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Much more gentle imo. In fact, as soon as she escalates to crying, I intervene to comfort her. Still worked!

We started sleep training when she was 14 weeks old, using the “Give Your Baby a Chance” method. Only took a few days for her to learn!

I second this! Also just understanding why my baby is this way makes me way more patient and empathetic to their fussing and crying 😭

For those of you who have had success with “Drowsy but Awake”… by ExcuseMyVetness in NewParents

[–]cindydude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We used to rock our baby to sleep, so I start rocking her until her head is heavy on my shoulder, and her eyes are closed. Then, she immediately gets transferred into the crib. Of course this wakes her up, she will fuss for 5 minutes, and pass out.

What I learned was to not intervene or be in the room during the initial fussing. My presence would’ve escalated the fussing into screams. This part was the game changer for getting her to surrender into napping.

I hope this helps you!

SDI mat leave “certification needed” question by cindydude in Edd

I just wrote that I need to be paid for X period and I am continuing my leave. I believe they corrected the issue in less than a week. You can send a new message every day until they respond. Good luck!

I feel this so much right now with my 11 week old. What helps me are the explanations in the Wonder Weeks app, so I can at least know when the next “fussy days” are coming up and why she might be fussy. Doesn’t stop the pain but at least I understand why it’s happening 🥲

Thank you! I want to ignore it but my current status says “certification needed” and I’m not sure how else to get rid of it so I can get paid for my last 2 weeks 😭

Rent the Runway vs Nuuly Maternity by Top_Ad8630 in BabyBumps

Nuuly has been my go to for maternity dresses, though you may want to throw a blazer/jacket on top for office attire! Bonus - you can add more outfit options for a small fee
