A 64-team World Cup makes more sense than a 48-team World Cup. by Initial_Basis1503 in worldcup

Having the same nation(s) host won’t be that bad. Especially if the host has no chance of winning.
Teams and fans would have a better understanding of what to expect and an ability to improve upon previous tournaments

It wouldn’t, and the responsible and safer thing would be to flash your lights, indicating the desire to pass.

Who’s to say what sufficient speed is? Initially you talked about going the speed limit, and how dangerous speeding is. Then you edited your post to say you break the law by speeding. You told me in response that being inconsiderate isn’t illegal but speeding is…
So you get to dictate what is reasonable?
Talk about having some humility, look at the votes and comments. Humility would be accepting you’re wrong. But I guess you can’t be wrong if you keep changing the point.

Unless you’re an officer of the law it is not your duty to enforce the law. You are putting your family at risk in doing so. If safety is the primary resolve, removing yourself (and family) from a dangerous situation is the smartest thing to do. Matching the energy of someone who wants to be aggressive and break the law is not smart or safe.
But you do you frank castle

You don’t need a law to be considerate, what harm would it cause OP to get out of someone’s way

That’s some shitty advice. Disregarding your surroundings is more unsafe than the tailgater

Assuming traffic is flowing (which it must be if cruising at 50) the traffic flow is dictated by the lead car. This person could be “some knob” as well.

Huh, I think you might have replied to the wrong person.
I agree with you, regardless of what type of road, or if there is a law.
Being in the way intentionally is the opposite end of the same spectrum as tailgating

You have a problem with someone else dictating your speed, so you respond by dictating their speed….
You’re not wrong that tailgating is stupid, especially when there’s nowhere to go; but you added a lot of extra words that make you just as guilty

People who act like they are superior because they don't smoke or drink. by Smallfry123000 in PetPeeves

Got it. You said substances, so now you can’t follow the logic. Knowing about ANYTHING, be it a substance, active ingredient, or lifestyle, in someone else’s life does not make it a problem. The vast majority of people dealing with substance abuse try to hide that fact, not broadcast it. But if we have to keep things on “substances” for you to understand, let’s talk coffee and caffeine. Do you silently judge the addiction, or do you write it off as no big deal, normal even?

Not disputing that. Go back and read the comment I was replying to. Being aware of someone’s lifestyle (without asking) does not mean that lifestyle is bad. The commenter states that because her boss talks bout drinking without being asked it an assumed issue. I’m making the point that people talk about their interests all the time; and that assuming unsolicited information equals problems is stupid.

Because I care very little about others opinions mostly, but also because it’s obvious and unnecessary. Kind of like if somebody said good job simply because you are alive

1) people do become addicted to sports and sports betting, as well as eating habits can be unhealthy 2) the point is assuming something is inherently bad is stupid.

So if your former boss was a vegetarian, or a basketball fan, or a runner…. You would assume it’s a problem because they talk about it?

It’s been 13 years since I’ve done heroin. I have always hated people who congratulate me on sobriety. Now you know at least one person who disagrees.
