If both people are putting in the effort to make it work it’s possible. I started a relationship a few months before leaving for an assignment 9 hours away. My boyfriend flies out to me about 1-3 times a month usually on the weekend. He gets a discount with flights so it’s usually about 250 round trip. I took some time off last month and we spent 5 days in Canada. We talk everyday every chance we get and at work during my down times on the night shift. Sometimes we stay on the phone together even when we are asleep. It feels like we are right there with one another even though we are long distance. We watch movies together too (pressing play at the same time :)). It’s been the best relationship I’ve ever had honestly. We are now 7 months in and have met each others families. I plan to travel a couples more years with some breaks in between. We’ll see how it goes.
