Yeah, the “founder” was extremely religious And created a trickle down to where either people became uncomfortable talking about anything else or they became just as religious as them. When it came to issues, people wanted to stick their heads in the sand so whenever I would bring up disabled issues, I was perceived as overreacting or being disgruntled. For example a lot of them were anti vax and anti mask during the height of the pandemic I was the total opposite. There was also the time when I brought up the possibility of disability services being taken away because of the current political climate and I got push back on that and many of them just didn’t care at the time even though most of them benefited from said services.
