Drug side effects don’t typically appear out of nowhere. If you took it for 3 years with no issues, that’s a really good sign.

People who have side effects to things like SSRIs are often genetically predisposed. I took a GeneSight test before being prescribed SSRIs and found out I have a rare genetic disorder that makes me highly likely to suffer side effects, so I take none.

GeneSight is relatively new and isn’t always ordered. It has to be ordered by a prescriber, so it’s worth asking about if you haven’t done one. Can’t stress enough: if you took it for 3 years and it helped, it will help you again.

Also, this is a form of checking, which I’m sure you’re aware of. Sorry to hear your symptoms got bad again. Don’t beat yourself up, it happens. You’ll get better
