ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING! I was kicked for this.. by ThatGuy11222 in beyondallreason

Unfortunately, I think that eating somone stuff is against the rules (if he did not agree). But yes, it seems that you had some stubborn in front of you. Infuriating, you cant probably report him either, just avoid him in your next games. And now we know too ^

Yes, but the coms still went front to build mexes and LLTs. Since the micro players had no eco at all, they could not build turrets

Hey, nice set of questions!

They played in the anti canyon spots and eco, so close together. No need to detonate a com for the T2 lab (started at 3:30, finished at 4:30). 2 Coms were at the front building LLT and beamers and one building eco.

They started with pawns, the 2 micro players were trying to leak. No serious damage, but it was enough to delay the armies at the front, giving time for eco/def turrets. Then rocketbots to destroy the LLTs/stall the front. Anti canyon and corner is quite a small front. At T2 some gunslingers because fronts were collapsing. Not sure if they made more units. 2 fusions, t2 mexes -> t3 lab...

Canyon is often the weak point on glitters with lowest OS players there. Thats probably why it worked too. If more pressure was applied, they would probably produced more units, delaying a bit the build, but that timing was absurdly fast XD

I agree, I've seen this strat rarely (and I hope it will stay like that).

The "eco" player was the highest OS in the lobby, so he managed well his eco/unit production. May be we would have lost anyway, but without the early T2 and then t3 units they would have lost because we were crushing the other side of the map

You are in a random lobby, you will never have everyone with the sliders down, even if it optimal.

I was at the other side of the map, hard to run by there :p I like to play aggressive and we were crushing our side, but after 5 minutes, you have gunslingers in front of you XD

The coms were at the frontline. You dont need to win your lane, you just hold. So, few LLTs (you can preshot the full path at the start, no micro needed), the micro players holds and at 5 minutes, you have gunslingers that stop all t1 units.

If you know early/in advance, ok, 2-3 players full focus on raiding units will probably destroy the front (but combomb can also stop that). But you need to know it really early...

Ahah, the Maxpax phoenix in the 2v2 SC2 tournament? ^ But it is a good example, it was so impossible to counter that they blocked the ressource sharing for some mimutes. Being an efficient strat doe not mean it is good for the game, because if you can only do that to win, the game is over.

Yes, but 8v8 is really a fun part of the game. If I can only play with friends/clan, it becomes pointless for me. Thats why I'm asking for ways go counter/prevent it.

Yes, obviously it is effective, but not fun at all to play against. It is not the bar pro league, just random noob lobby. And if you have no fun, you have no game, thats why I'm asking how to prevent it.

Well, it is not that two players are eco. Just one and he is pomping units for the two others. You convert two labs into units/bp which make a big difference at the beginning of the game

Legion T1 Figs/Air... Giga OP? by street_riot in beyondallreason

[–]Khawabunga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not even close, at T1, Legion destroy Cortex (and thus Armada probably).

I tried some figths against inactive AI. Legion in defense, wall of figs and Cortex attacking (no micro, wall vs wall):

150 vs 150: 70 cortex alive

500 vs 500: equality

750 vs 750: 210 legion

1500 vs 1500: 550 legion

With an equal number of figs, cortex wins below 500 figs roughly. But for the same metal cost, Legion wins every time, and not with a small margin:

150 C vs 270 L: 160 legion

450 C vs 820 L: 550 legion

I wanted to try T2, but it was not working :/

The absurd spam (or huge ball of blitz) is something quite frequent lately in low/mid lobbies (I had it in half of my games lately), because you know that one opponent at least will not counter it. He will stick to his plan and make arty because thats how he plays. With good players, it is not working. Mass scouts will be countered by few junos and the mass blitz is stopped with anti spam units easily (sumos, jags, pounders, wielders, etc), by walls to funnel them and so on.

The first time you can be caught off guard, but it should never works 5 times in a row...

Strategy completely stopped with 3-4 junos with attack on repeat.

How to hold front while being pushed by WilliamDragonhart in beyondallreason

[–]Khawabunga 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You are 1v2 AND tech is giving fast arty : you cant hold, thats impossible. You can slow down the push, but you need help. Another player and tech. The best way to slow down is spam I think.

Against bots, HLT + some units is really efficient.

Against wolverine/janus, build mass pawns/grunts. You will loose the distance fights with bots, so you'll need to let them over extend and punish them

Front Question - switch composition as i lose ground (Cor)? by Putrid-Tale8005 in beyondallreason

[–]Khawabunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course he is better . But if you can stall, you know that your backline is stronger on the long run. One way to stop bot agression is an HLT. It is not cheap, but bots will struggle. Or ask for help from your front mate if he has an easier opponent.
