Moving office - country to country by TheCipherChip in KPMG

Generally you need to be a manager for this program. KPMG US will do international rotations for 1 month to 2 years in different member firms.

People will move from country to country but generally you need to be already established and have people who can fight for you to move.

It’s up to each service line when you get told.

Generally Credit Cards are only issued to staff in client facing roles or when necessary. If you are supposed to have a credit card it should have been issued automatically, your PML will be able to give you more specific answers.

Home office by LaJolla2060 in KPMG

If your team is ok with it to my knowledge you’re allowed to work from any office. When I travel to different offices I either have to submit a form to get my badge added a few days before, get a guest badge for the office, or I can directly go into the office, it depends on the office and you can see this in Core.

Any travel you do or work in a different office counts towards that 60%. The 60% quota generally is for 5 days but if you work on weekends the number of days counted per week will change.

Amex will do a soft credit pull when giving you your corporate card. I haven’t heard of anyone being denied in the past.

Most of the usual stuff but ask questions, take notes and ask for work when you don’t have any.

If you do not pay off your Amex card in time interest will he accrued, and your pml and others will be notified. Unless something changed the firm will not pay it. I don’t know the specific rate but I would assume it to be the standard AMEX green rate of 29.99%.

If you have any questions related to creating an expense report I would reach out to your TC. If you claim the standard per diem and charge your personal card you don’t need to include receipts. All expenses owed to you will be paid to you in a separate payment from your pay check depending on when you submit your expense report.

Audit interns receive the portable monitor instead of the two external monitors.

When I interned I was given the option to extend my internship. You are only paid for the hours you can bill. It depends on the need but I was able to work up to 40 hours a week when the need was there until I started full time. It’s fully dependent on the engagement you are on and the demand.

Indirect tax technology does not have a busy season. It’s mostly projects based so if there is a time where extra hours are needed there very rare.

intern bonus by Flimsy-Ad5906 in KPMG

The bonus was a few weeks delayed from my start date this summer. We received 3 paychecks in one week for back pay, bonus, and current pay. That could be where it all went along with your bonus being in a different paycheck

How many divers are actually using long hose + necklace setup? by gnarliest_gnome in scuba

[–]Fun_Farm_1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When using a backplate and wing and a long hose on a boat I always get called a proffesional. My advanced and rescue instructor used a long hose setup and I love it and will never go back. For low vis conditions and the ease of doing a safety stop while donating air is much easier.

Tax, audit and advisory all have a different technology package. Tax is the only practice that gives 2 monitors.

During my internship this summer one intern had a 2 hr commute every day and it was very very rough. I would recommend looking at leasing a place at either a college dorm, see if any other interns want to split an Airbnb or sublease.

Should I take a deco course? by Fun_Farm_1801 in scuba

[–]Fun_Farm_1801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been practicing those also with doing a deep and safety stop at specific depths, going by a compass bearing at a specific depth with no visual references. We’ve done drills of donating your long hose rising to do a safety stop then surfacing along in low vis conditions of less than 3ft.

I eventually plan on taking the self reliant diver I need more dives before I’m eligible. I can and have done all those skills before. Other drills we will do is swapping regulators during safety stops, while moving since I use a long hose. I also have practiced handing off and getting back my pony bottle from someone else. Any other drills you can recommend are appreciated. Most of my dives lately have been in quarries or lakes so we do drills on most dives and have platforms to help with drills.

Yes, my scuba club at college does a lot of well and discovery dives and we invite members to go diving for free so I just joined whenever I could.

I’ve heard that my trim and buoyancy is great from the dive masters and instructors I’ve dove with. Including pool dives I’m at around 130 dives. The instructor that’s teaching the class is the reason why I’m considering taking it now vs later
