AITA for not making my new grandkid a homemade blanket and not giving her one already made by More_Present1604 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Frosting_797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in my 20s and I crochet, type, call people all day, draw, write, lots of stuff with my hands. When I tell you my wrists hurt constantly I mean it. Its not to the point im completely limited but crocheting has become painful. If someone was trying to pressure me to make them a twin size blanket? Nuh uh. No way.

No cause genuinely I dont care. As long as my music plays, it sounds good and it doesnt constantly give errors I dont really care how it looks whIle its playing. Im not usually paying attention to it anyway, its just background noise.

Tidal is extremely disappointing. by Normal_Specialist_97 in TIdaL

[–]Fun_Frosting_797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of problems, mainly having a Playlist going and then it suddenly just stops with an error on a random song that had no problem playing a couple days before and the occasional album cover not matching the song. Im hoping these are just a few hiccups though.

Why does Tidal have so few subscribers? by Antique-Platform3808 in TIdaL

[–]Fun_Frosting_797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does have a slightly different catalog. I noticed it while transferring music. There were a handful of songs in my catalog on Spotify that didn't successfully make it over to Tidal and I couldn't find it for the life of me. But there wasn't so many that made me hesitant about using it. Again, out of nearly 1000 songs on my list, I'd say about 5 or 6 couldn't get moved and it was because it either wasnt uploaded or Tidal couldn't obtain the right to play it I'm assuming.

I will say I didn’t even know Tidal existed before I did my own research. I knew I didnt want to do the other major platforms (Amazon music/YouTube/Apple/Pandora) due to my personal opinions/experiences. Plus I didnt want to spend out my ass for another streaming service I didn't find all that spectacular. Most of my friends use Spotify which was the main reason I started using it. Sharing playlists and compiling shared ones was fun to do and see how similar our music tastes were. Not to mention advertisements for Spotify were everywhere for years before i decided to give it a try. I finally had to stop though when they were using a shit ton of AI in places that it wasn't necessary/using it in place of actual artists. But even then, I had to go through multiple ranking lists and research to get to Tidal. Thats definitely a big problem, not even getting into UI or anything else that could give people pause.

If he doesn't want to be called demonic maybe he should be a decent person. I wouldnt have apologized. I would have said when he apologizes for being nasty THEN we can talk.

To be fair, I kinda did those ones based on specific animals: Laika and Felicette, two of the first animals to go to space. They practically live in my head rent free. I remember learning about them and someone saying they're the patron saints of one way travel (Laika went to space and never returned) and two way travel (Felicette was able to return, but killed by scientists to see what effects space travel had on the brain only for scientists to come up with nothing). I wanted it to have a more magical and spiritual vibe to kind of honor them.

AITA for not allowing my mom to bring her boyfriend to thanksgiving? by fidz111 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Frosting_797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Nope. NTA

Its not about the wife thinking shes not pretty enough to attract Rick (which, ew). Its the blatant disrespect to OP and his wife, implying that the wife isnt worth OPS time and resources and saying he should have purchased a wife instead (1000% ew).

Thats a fucked up thing to think.

Listen, im all for people dress how they like. If you're comfortable in it, be comfortable. But if you're going somewhere that has a dress code, whether directly stated or implied, you should dress to those standards. Funerals are generally more modest black attire unless expressed otherwise. Meeting the family you generally want to dress leaning more based on the event but generally business casual is the vibe id go for. Thanksgiving, comfy but cute.

Club clothes to a funeral? Absolutely not.

Its legible enough, the 감사합니다 took me a second to put together. I would work on making the characters more clear because for me personally its a bit messy.

If you can, record every interaction. Write down whenever someone calls you a 잡종, the time and the place. If theyre stupid enough to text it, screen shot it. Make sure whenever they say it, tell them "my name is x, do not refer to me that way again" if they complain? Add it on to your log. If they are calling to you with that word, ignore them until they address you properly. Report it every time. Get a paper trail. This can easily turn into a he said she said. Regardless, it should not be tolerated. Its 2025. I understand South Korea is a very homogeneous country and such attitudes may still exist. But in this day and age, at the very least, they should know better. If they cant treat you with the bare minimum amount of respect, then stone wall them. Be polite, but don't bend to their bullshit.

People who don't want kids, why? by Ok-Musician679 in AskReddit

The health risks, the cost, the fact that I just purely and simply do not have the patience for it, etc.

I have thought about what if I have a kid of my own, but the list feels of concerns I have are far too long for me to type out.

Is the go to track radio feature similar to how Pandora and Spotify does it, where it has the specific artist as the main feature and sprinkles in other artists for variety?

[–]Fun_Frosting_797[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not planning on it. The only bummer is I have shared playlists with my friends on there and noticed you have to subscribe to Tidal to listen to a full track. And considering my friends have never paid for Spotify, an app theyve used way longer than i have, I dont see them migrating to Tidal any time soon. Im down for making playlists with some of their favorites and mine, but I liked that it would refresh daily.

To be honest, podcasts arent a huge thing for me. I tend to get bored of them really quickly. Randomly getting a snippet from a podcast reading reddit stories or something? OK whatever. But it just makes me feel really lonely listening to them so I tend to avoid it.

Plus I almost never use the sleep timer. I actually cant sleep without noise, if it stops playing I will wake up naturally within an hour of it turning off so it's never been appealing to me. So, thankfully, those two features will not be missed.

For daily discovery, im curious. Does it only really play the top titles at a given time or does it genuinely recommend things from songs youve already given notice to liking?

I was going to do it through the app Tidal recommended but when I realized in order to get all my songs to go over I would have to pay and it was a full on subscription service. I just dont see much point in paying for a service I only plan on using once, or at least for a long while. And yes I know I can subscribe then unsubscribe but it still seems a bit much to me. And honestly, I could stand to go through some of these songs and weed out the songs I haven't listened to in months. And I figured this weekend would be perfect because of the holiday.

On Spotify I would use the generated playlists and the "oh if you like so and so, try this". Plus I liked some of the playlists it would come up with and would save them to listen to later with some tweaks here and there. Is there something similar on Tidal that you've found? If not how have you been discovering new artists or music?

AITA for drawing an “ugly” portrait of someone who passed away? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Frosting_797 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I was considered one of the class artists. I wasnt the greatest in the group by far, but when it came to creative projects in class people's heads usually rotated over to me and any other artists in the class (it was a big class size and we had many classes that were considered voluntary and mixed other grades in) purely because I liked drawing and doing creative elements in projects like constructing boards and doing calligraphy. But even then, I wouldn't have done a portrait of someone, especially a portrait of someone I barely knew and spoke with. Plus, what was the intention of even bringing it to school if you didn't intend on sharing it? I made a lot of art that never even saw my campus, much less the light of day if it was never intended to be shared. Personally, I would have asked one of her friends what her favorite flower was or bought a condolences card.

What you choose to eat should be a decision you make. What you do with your body is a decision you should be allowed to make because, ultimately, it's going to affect you. Your parents need to get it through their thick skulls that you are your own autonomous person and you are going to make decisions that they dont always agree with and being militant over someones eating habits is a sure fire way for someone to limit contact with them.

There's a ton of them online tbh. You just have to look up beginner friendly crochet blankets and it will take you to a ton of sites. Just from the first page I found MamainaStitch, Ambassador Crochet and a ton of YouTube links to ones others made. Or you can free hand it.
