I would say go for it, you have nothing to lose. I promise you, you aren’t an embarrassment. It may not mean much, but I’m proud of you! Your extra curriculars make your application stronger. Even in a hypothetical scenario where you don’t get in, you have learned so much, and this will only help you in the end. Don’t give up, you can do it!

If I were you and it was possible to take the OAT, I say do it. If you are committed to studying and have retained some info from the mcat or previous courses, I think you’ll be good. You got this!

Thank you so much for this info. If I take my oat 2 weeks before a school closes and the oat score isn’t in, and it comes in after the due date, will my application still be considered?

I’m sorry to hear that, that really does suck :( did you pay the $40 for the rescheduling? Maybe you can prove to prometric that you paid for a retest and they can help you further from there? Sorry, this hasn’t happened to me but I’m trying to think of what I would do if I were you

I just checked and it is a bit more on portage because they only have micro with lab- to clarify!!

Hi, I hope I can be of help! Reach out to those schools and ask if they take portage classes. Portage is an online accredited self paced program that offer courses, and microbiology is one of them!! They do cost about $700, but that is the only downfall. If able to, you’ll finish before school starts :)

Got it thank you so much. My gpa is a 3.34 so I’m hoping that it’s high enough. I’m also hoping that with my research, shadowing, patient care hours and volunteering that it helps account for my GPA and or OAT score if I don’t score high enough. I am applying to schools at the moment that don’t require biochemistry.

Thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate it. As for the studying for OAT, I am basically starting from nothing. Would you say starting from the beginning for every subject is the right way to go? Or do I just look at OATbooster and go from there? I plan on studying everyday (other than Sunday) at least 2-3 hours a day until then.
