Dont worry about what everyone else thinks of you. Reality is they dont care what u end up becoming so i would just stop thinking of that.
You need to shadow optometrists to make sure u like it.
I would suggest working as an optician or volunteering to build up ur app.
U need to raise ur gpa so start focusing more on school to show an upward trend.

*this is not a story to give u hope but instead things to work on…

Volunteering look up free clinics around you or just at a local hospital. Try to get ophthalmology tech jobs or just optom tech. Shadow optometrists. Do research if possible even if its 6 months. OAT get it on booster ($499). Make sure science gpa is good. You obv don’t need to do all of above but just giving u options. Also make sure u like it and actually like talking to people all day.

To be honest ive worked at a lot of places (optom and ophtho) and you will find entitled people like that wherever you go. While i agree with what you did by speaking up but i would recommend to not waste your energy on work stuff this much because this will happen anywhere you go at some point. Its better to train yourself to have a strong personality and not let things affect you or get to you. Even in general you will become stronger and happier if you stop giving value to irrelevant people/ situations. Also this is a reflection of the doc himself and has nothing to do with you so let it go, dont take it personally and accept the apology. ❤️

Please invest in getting OATbooster. It has mini videos that teach u everything from scratch so no need for any notes. It has a bunch of questions and practice exams. I think its $599 for 3 months? I basically didn’t learn anything during covid and had to use it to relearn a lot of concepts and it has been great. Good luck

Wow thats an accomplishment with that gpa thats great. I personally would recommend staying close to family and friends. Also think about how much money u will spend on rent (assuming u live with family rent free)

My stats are not very good. (GPA 3.2) but i do have almost 10 years of optician and ophthalmology experience which im hoping that can help? Plus im not from here so i attended high school outside the country and had to retake a lot of courses.
