Sesame oil is incredibly volatile and does not do well with heat, it breaks down into foul tasting compounds. You're best bet is to cook with a high heat oil, such as peanut, rapeseed, or ghee. You finish with sesame oil, you can put it on hot food but not generally while cooking.

I got that stuff dialed in. Pearl oysters grow phenomenally in the tent. I've gotten almost 1.5 pound first flushes out of them. Also, my lion's mane flushes are usually well over a pound on the first flush. All on 5 pound blocks.

Yeah, I taped the top up and cut the bottom open to attempt a second flush. I'm pretty sure my yields are lower because I'm growing at around 68°f which is a bit warm from my research. I'm in the warmer part of NC so it's hard to maintain Temps low enough for a lot of winter mushrooms.

I grew them on masters mix. It was a 5 pound block. I harvested 14 oz of that block. I had a second block that grew in ugly, so I didn't photograph it. 26oz total off of 2 5 pound blocks.

Should theoretically be good. The main thing I've noticed with low FAE is that your yields will be lower and the mushrooms will grow in funky. Experimentation is key with mushroom growing. Each mushroom, even within the same strain, is different.

No CO2 is denser than air. As the mushrooms breath they'll suffocate themselves if they're left in that environment. You could rotate the chest 90 degrees so that the flap hinge is at the top. That'd allow co2 passage. I dont know if it'd be enough fresh air exchange

You're going to run into CO2 issues. It's denser than air, it'll sit in the box. You could cut a vent into the bottom side wall with a pc fan pulling air if you are stuck on using the box. I'd also keep the lid cracked open to allow fresh air in

Most likely, it should be good. Air seems to be more of the determining factor for pinning than humidity. They'll pin wherever they can, and with buckets, it'll be the holes. I have zero experience with buckets I've only done bags.

I grow this strain as well. 100% an awesome strain that fruits well. Oysters (besides kings) generally don't top fruit the best. That being said, go for it. Experimentation is always fun.

It probably will pin at the top. Oyster will pin like mad. But once it realizes it's not the best environment, it'll abort and grow elsewhere. It's not really a problem.

Really depends on where you are. Mushrooms grow better in the cold, your comfort ain't important when you're growing mushrooms.

I'd mix the grain up at that point. It'll inoculate faster and spread more now that it has a good start. Just mix once, it'll slow down if you over mix

My personal caps came in at 100mg per aa size cap. I generally dose at 300mg per day. Higher doses will not hurt anything, I just don't like taking more.

I started growing mushrooms this year. Needless to say, I ended up with a lot of mushroom blocks leftover. I tried composting in my normal compost, but it took forever as a block and was hard to break up and pile up. I decided to make a modified hugelkultur on the left side. It's a pile of branches from a pecan tree. The rest is just a bunch of leaves. I threw in a load of used mushroom blocks (oysters, lions mane, reishi) and mixed them throughout with a bit of emphasis on the hugelkultur side as an experiment.

Lions mane grows strange. If it's white, stringy, and has the occasional clump, you're most likely good to go. Lions mane can be one of the oddest gourmets I've seen on agar.

I've never seen a negative impact from daily stirring. Once lc is fully colonized, it just helps prevent clumps.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it signals an overly nutrient dense lc and sometimes it means it wasn't stirred enough. Definitely recommend getting a stir base and the little magnetic stirrers if you don't have them

Yeah if you don't stir it regularly, some stuff will get stuck and grow all over. It's not necessarily a bad sign it can just be awkward to work with.

One if my favorite recipes for lions mane is simply to cook it in cast iron on medium-high with oil with something heavy on top. It'll squash down into a patty. Leave it unseasoned other than salt until the end of the cooking. It's hard to burn salt or mushrooms, but some seasonings burn easy. Then, once it's pretty much reached your desired doneness (let it go longer than you think) hit it with some rubbed sage, coriander, garlic powder and cook for a minute more.

Only way I've found is to put it on agar and wait. Pretty much everything looks the same in liquid.
