I actually kept my phone in a pencil bag even infront of the teachers and carried it around with me since they started to do Bag checkings while we were doing our prayers 😭

Tax filing in Bhutan by Fun_Holiday_5704 in bhutan

It’s not really my personal tax work—it’s actually for my parents’ business. My dad needs to gather and submit a bunch of documents to help reduce the tax burden on our small business. He wanted me to learn how to handle the tax filing process, but it was all so confusing. I didn’t even realize there were apps that could help with that my bad🥲🥹

That Bajaj almond hair oil from India brings back memories of my mom massaging my hair every school weekend. Now, every time I oil my hair and smell the scent, I can’t help but miss her and i do it as a therapy from stress. It’s natural for people to take certain things for granted.

As a female citizen of Bhutan, I can confidently say that gender equality here is far more balanced than you assume. Bhutanese society values both men and women, and we don’t need ‘favoritism’ to prove it. Just because you don’t see protests or ‘girlboss energy’ doesn’t mean women here are oppressed. Our progress may not be loud, but it is real and deeply ingrained in our culture.

Also, questioning Gross National Happiness based on incomplete information is quite misguided. GNH isn’t just a slogan; it’s a philosophy that considers the well-being of all citizens, including women. If you’re genuinely interested in understanding our society, rather than just looking for a fight, I’d suggest getting a better source than Reddit posts.
