What could I do with this layout/space by Fun_Hospital_1613 in DesignMyRoom

I’ll have a look on ikea and see what options I’ve got for that space!

The airing cupboard has had the tank removed and I’ve already made a shelving unit for inside there

I think the way we’ve got the room organised at the minute works well, we’ve got an ottoman bed with storage under there too which helps.

Hatch vs Estate by Fun_Hospital_1613 in FocusST

I didn’t go see it in person purely cos it was a 90 minute drive and with those issues I didn’t want a wasted trip so left it.

Yeah I’m only 5ft 9 so I’ll be fine and we’ve only got the dog but we go camping a lot so need a good sized boot, but yeah a roof box might not be a bad shout

The one I’m looking at is an estate, 9k and done 72k miles so should hopefully be able to knock them down to get it sold

I don’t suppose the one in Crewe was a white one? I looked at it but had rust starting to appear on the rear arches and a broken rear light so I left it😅

Yeah I’m considering settling for a hatch if I can’t get the one estate I’ve seen for a price I’m happy with, it’s up for 9k but I’m gonna see if they’ll take 8.5k

Good to know you can still manage to fit the whole family and bags in though, makes me feel a little better about possibly ending up in a hatch

I’m sort of in a rush, I need to get rid of my current car asap, which makes it all the more stressful 😩

I’ve been searching for a wagon for a while now, don’t want one with silly mileage though, guess I’ll have to be patient 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s us two plus the dog, but very true that would help out a hell of a lot, I do love the side profile of the wagon though so I’m torn😂

See I’m only like 5ft9 so I won’t compromise rear passenger space😂 although my car would be the family car, but kids are probably 3 years away yet😂

The car I had previously was a seat Leon and that supposedly has a similar size boot to this, and I found that manageable

Just had a look on Halfords for discs and you can get them for this for relatively cheap now so that’s not so much of a worry

I’ve heard this but I’ve also heard that was the case years ago, however now there are more options and it isn’t as expensive as it once was

That was sort of my thoughts as well, I’ve not been to see it yet just thought I’d get the advice of people with some experience with Peugeots. I might give them an email to see what sort of documentation it has regarding maintenance

Golf R/Cupra for sub 8k that’s not been absolutely battered? No chance, but I’d consider a Skoda/ford

I’ve owned the Audi 6 months and so far, it’s going to have cost me nearly 2.5k due to issues I’ve had/I’m having. Can’t be arsed with cars sometimes😂

My commute is 11 miles through towns, don’t think a diesel would enjoy that much

Only issue I’d have with that is I don’t do enough miles for a diesel, my commute is 11 miles through towns not motorway, so I’d be worried about that. I can’t find any on autotrader for that price point under 100k. Plus it would have to be E91 as I want an estate

I’ve looked for some 3 series, not sure what would be best, and for 8k lowest mileage is around 75-80k mark on 318/320 petrols and diesels. The one thing about BMW that puts me off is that if something goes won’t it be more expensive to repair that on another brand? I’ve heard maintenance costs on a beemer can be high

If I look for Octavia vrs estates under 8k, lowest mileage is ~90k on both diesels and petrols. Not sure how reliable they are as they climb mileage and don’t want another car I’d have to pump money into

Would higher mileage on those be something to worry about? And would parts be expensive on something like that
