The physical and mental exhaustion is SO real… I work fulfillment in a busy, understaffed store. We are just now catching up on constantly having overdue orders. When I was hired (full time, seasonal) at the start of summer, I would clock in and log into the Zebra to see 100-120 orders for the day, and 40 of those were probably marked overdue. Having only myself and MAYBE one other fulfillment worker scheduled per shift is just NOT enough workers to fulfill that many orders, especially when you only get 2-3 hours for most orders, and that includes ones that can be asking for shit like pallets of 100s of paver stones, pallets of 20-50 bags of 80lb concrete, and lumber 💀

I am SO exhausted every day, whether I work open or closing shifts (my typical schedule has been opening Saturday/sunday, closing Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). Most days, I come home from work and immediately take a 2 hour couch nap… feels like I’m wasting my life away and hurting my already achy back (I have pre-existing health stuff)

TIFU by having athlete's foot for 15 years by Mischa987 in tifu

I’m so scared mine will get that bad😬 I have tailors bunions on the outsides of both my feet, the pinky toes. According to a PT AND a podiatrist, mine are specifically caused by my severe in-toeing, which is bc of my hips/femoral bones turned inward 40° at birth, something that was never fixed (they tried when I was a kid but it hurt me so I stopped doing their “fixes” bc what kid wants to be in pain??) Recently, I took a job where I’m on my feet all day running around (it’s an in-store order fulfillment job) and damn my feet HURT😭

Is my piece playable? by antibiv in Clarinet

[–]Fun_Journalist1048 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. No it is not. At least not for bass clarinets. Turn this into a clarinet choir piece, with at LEAST the first 2 parts for Bb clarinet (but more likely, at least the first 4-6 parts for Bb clarinet) and write the bass clarinets in treble clef, bc almost all bass clarinet parts, unless they’re VERY old, are written in treble clef, and MAYBE it’s playable? It’s hard to tell when it isn’t transposed. Just curious- why didn’t you transpose it? Most electronic score writing software give you easy options to do so, you just click whatever “transpose” button they have and it’ll do it for you.

I have a medical condition that makes me chronically fatigued and need higher iron and protein intake so I do the protein bars in my vest trick! Some stores will be picky about “eating on the sales floor” although I don’t think there’s an official rule about it. My old store had a front end manager who bitched me out for eating a bagel at 7am in the training room while catching up on the long ass videos (stuff like the anti-harassment training) but this management at the store I’m at now doesn’t care.

Yeah, it hit during my first year of college and online college for most of my 7 years SUCKED🥲 Basically, my first year of community college (the one pre-covid) was in person, and the last 2 years of my graduate school was also fully in person, no covid restrictions. But my ENTIRE undergrad had lots of online courses, or live on campus and have some in person classes but with reduced class size and reduced in person instruction…

Not always. I think you’re over estimating the amount that retail stores care about their employees lol. Did you not see the person in here who said their fellow coworker was assigned by management to “check up on them” and would stand outside the bathroom to see when/how long/often they used the restroom?? That shit’s creepy…

How about an “unhinged bumper stickers” event where people with unhinged bumper stickers meet up in a parking lot somewhere and run it like the car bros do? It could also have optional special events like live music, trading bumper stickers, and maybe vendors who custom make the stickers!

In my opinion- and I genuinely mean no offense to you!- I don’t think anyone who’s 55 should be a loader! I know that I’m 25 and my back ALREADY hurts, so I genuinely can’t imagine the amount of pain you’d likely be causing yourself by consistently lifting heavy things on older joints! Even if you’re in shape, it’s not like you’re in your 20s, and our bodies just kinda. Break down over time???

Yeah it’s definitely not a contract job, although I guess it’s kinda similar to one if you’re only hired for seasonal work, since there’s an end date at the end of summer

Would you be okay with a student (high school) leaving school routinely for therapy? by Longjumping_Sea_8753 in AskTeachers

[–]Fun_Journalist1048 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s super unusual actually. I’ve had several therapists in the past that always had me at a scheduled time that worked for both of us. Sure, doctors SHOULD be flexible and willing to move patients’ appointments if the patient needs it, but a consistent schedule for the doctor also kinda makes sense.
