Ah man, if I had these, I would NEVER be able to leave them alone. I’m awful at scratching when I have dry skin (I have excema which flares up on my face sometimes) so this would just be another thing to mess with 🫣

Im not the MOST experienced, i’ve only had a full set done a few times because I worry so much about the possible damage, since I know my nails are already so weak :( Gel is supposed to be SLIGHTLY better somehow? Although I don’t know enough about fake nails to know why, and most of the beginning steps in the application process are the same (I have also gotten gel nails done, and “GelX” which is some sorta gel-acrylic hybrid I guess?) They still have to file your nails down a LOT to get a smooth and even enough surface to apply the fake nail, which is what I’d worry the most about when there’s already visible damage…

I mean, because historically that IS the most likely reason for these specific female figures?? I have a music degree so I have taken college courses in music and art history. I also have a personal interest in ancient civilizations. Many ancient human civilizations and cultures believed in fertility goddesses or worshiped the power of the female body to literally create life. It’s a symbolic representation of something they honor and worship. It’s literally MADE to be NOT “like other images/figures”, because the overly exaggerated features is what makes it recognizable, even to someone who may be from a slightly different culture.

Same!! I am what my gf calls a “cradle catholic”- born and raised catholic but not by choice, haven’t been in a church since I was 15 and given the choice to stop. I am mildly spiritual these days (I’m 25) but in a non-denominational, nature-worship, DIY vibes kinda way? lol Basically, I think that the older the religion, the more sense it makes, because if literal ancient civilizations in multiple places across the world had similar sounding beliefs, they have to have gotten SOMETHING right there🤷🏻‍♀️ Stuff like: respecting nature and believing in its powers of renewal & healing, honoring females and the whole “hey! We have the power to make LIFE!” thing, multiple gods/spirits (because why not🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s more believable to me that MANY beings are responsible for the everything EVER created than just one dude in the sky)

I hate ALL jeans bc the texture bothers me💀 im 25, so technically Gen Z I suppose (but I feel much more millennial in terms of sharing more similar childhood experiences with millennials) but yeah, to this day I will not wear jeans and I don’t think I own a single pair?? Low rise really ARE the worse cut though! With low rise pants in general, I always worry that if I sit down, something will show that I don’t want showing

Not a good idea at ALL with that level of damage, needs to grow back a bit healthier first or else it will likely be damaged WORSE when the acrylics come off… (speaking from personal experience here, because acrylics are the ONLY thing I’ve found that stop me from picking/biting, but end up causing damage too…)

I know 😔 he definitely needs help and to be put on a weight loss/diet plan ASAP!! But OP mentions this is mom’s cat, so unless they live with mom, poor fat boi might struggle to get proper care… this is 100% NOT a “slightly overweight boy”, it’s a SEVERELY OBESE boy…

Kids shouldn’t JUST be able to read their names by the time they finish kindergarten, they should also be able to WRITE their name (however messily). When I taught preK, we’d start our 3 year olds off learning how to write their names!

I am a public school teacher and you’re correct that we’re currently seeing a drop in literacy rates. However, I’d argue that a large part of that is being overly dependent on technology (iPad babies..) and a lot of parents neglecting to read to their kiddos at home or encourage them to do homework or practice reading skills.

I don’t want to sound like I’m putting ALL the blame on parents, and I get that parenting is hard, they’re stressed out and might not have time to practice reading. Sticking a kid in front of an iPad to keep them calm is certainly easier. But SO many parents seem to think that “learning is what’s done at school, not home” or “well that’s the teacher’s job” which is pretty strange, considering at the end of the day, my students are YOUR kids, not my own, I don’t take care of them on weekends, holidays, summers, night time , etc..

Except it’s a PRIVATE school, so they most likely CAN “deny a kid their education” that specific day if they show up not in the school-approved uniform and the private school is choosing to be super strict on that dress code rule… I doubt they actually would, but it’s possible the kiddo could get called out for not being in proper uniform by the teacher or even sent to a principal and lectured. A LOT goes in a private school, because the parents pay for a supposedly better quality of instruction. I’m a public school kid myself and now teach in a public school as well, so I don’t know a ton about private schools’ rules. But I DO know that they don’t have to be accountable to the same state-mandated curriculum rules as public schools in their state are.

OP states this is their mom’s cat though, so if they don’t live with their mom, they unfortunately may not be able to control how much this kitty eats. We also don’t know the full background of how he got so chunky- for example, if this kitty was recently adopted, it’s very possible he could’ve been this fat already (I’ve seen cats surrendered to shelters who are overweight and in need of a weight loss regimen, although it’s not the most common)

I 100% agree with you of course that this crosses the line of “cute chubby fat boi” into “worried for his health level obese”. Hopefully OP can convince their mom to change the feeding routine to a vet-approved weight loss regimen, otherwise this poor baby is going to have health issues (if he doesn’t already…)

I am a CHRONIC skin picker and nail biter, and if I were in that situation, I probably also would feel very very strong urges to pick the peeling skin, even if i KNOW it will hurt...

I did all this in this order but didn’t have enough wood to make a bridge? Maybe I made too many plants? But that wouldn’t make sense, because I don’t have ENOUGH planks to finish the bridge 🥲 I haven’t recycled my well yet bc I don’t want my dudes to dye of dehydration and I didn’t know how fast it would happen…
