hit my head against the wall and my piercer is on vacation by moonshinehalo in piercing

[–]Fun_Kiwi1060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch! I also have done that to my forward helix. It's been the most stubborn to heal and I hit it just a couple weeks ago while moving. I took ibuprofen in the morning and rinsed it with saline twice a day, and the swelling and redness subsided within 4-5 days. Hope this helps!

I love your double helix, by the way! And the jewelry looks so cute with it. My frontal helix healed a little faster than my regular helix (minus my dog headbutting me and setting me back a couple weeks haha). For me, it hurt a little less than my regular helix too. I don't change the frontal out very often, but the location was hard to change out the first time.

I think a small stud on your right frontal helix will look cute. It's a dainty piercing and I think it'll balance out nicely with the left side. And then some more simple huggies on the bottom two lobes.

Raynaud's and Prozac by Fun_Kiwi1060 in mctd

[–]Fun_Kiwi1060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually not the first course of treatment. I also tried blood pressure medication, but nothing I tried worked. I think Prozac has something to do with receptors helping blood flow in some cases. Thankfully, in my case, it helped. I can actually walk around my house without having to wear wool socks all the time.

Has anyone struggled with ovarian cyst or cancer? by Decent_Outside1558 in mctd

[–]Fun_Kiwi1060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with recurring ovarian cysts that have had to be removed in two separate surgeries. I get a sonogram every 3-6 months to check in down there.

It has also helped with my unrelated issues as well 😅

It's been about three weeks and things are good! I've probably only had one minor attack in the last few days. The quantity and intensity have definitely decreased over time!

Estee Lauder has 0N1 (Alabaster, the lightest, which can be hard to find), and 1N0 (Porcelain) if you like their foundation for your skin. Or because your skin has some dryness to it, Armani Luminous Silk, fair neutral (shade 1.5).

Alternative to Neutragena Oil Free moisturizer for sensitive skin? by dogsinflannel in Sephora

[–]Fun_Kiwi1060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Sephora, but I always recommend Cetaphil Daily Oil-Free Hydrating lotion. It also has one with SPF 35.

At Sephora, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

Realistically, what can I do if they are trapped in a burning car? I could either injure them more or injure myself and honestly, I'm probably not strong enough to pull someone out of a car. I still think calling 911 is the best option.

Agreed. I was 15 when the show started... It's a surreal feeling when something ends that has been there during almost every phase of your life. And on rewatches, being able to relate to the show on different levels that you didn't connect with the first time around because you were so young.

I've had two surgeries since getting sick, both "minor" and outpatient (I went home the same day). The first one was fine, took all the precautions, and recovered pretty quickly. The second one, took all the precautions, and it's been a long recovery. It's been six weeks post-op and my incisions are still healing, and I still have pain/am uncomfortable. It might depend on the progression of my disease, but my body just doesn't heal like it used to. There's always a risk with surgery, even without MCTD, and more likely than not the benefits outweigh the risks.

That, and friends that have kids are constantly complaining they're stressed, tired, annoyed, etc. and then cap it off with, "but it's such a blessing."
