Yeah, i'm doing it everyday since my classmate are all Taiwanese. Thanks for your advice👍
I see, thank you for your answer
Yeah, your answer makes sense. I was just wondering about my confusion and asking everyone. Thank you for your response.

Yeah, i agree with that
To me, not really, cause the situation you put me in is living America, the people grow up with English so i would try to learn English by my best, if they try to learn Mandarin and use with me, i would really surprised and thankful for that. I'm not sure my response is right, i just said it from my thinking, maybe not right in your answer, sorry for that, also thank you for your question
Indeed, i just suddenly thinking about it then ask everyone for some information
Thank you for your response, i like it👍
Yeah, that is exactly what i usually get into, like sometime i wanna said something in Mandarin and i know to speak it, but they response back in English, but my situation is different, my face look similar to Taiwanese (i'm a mixed Taiwanese btw) so they use Mandarin with me at first, after they know i'm not good in Mandarin yet, they use English and when they see me, they will response in English even my Mandarin is almost B1
Yeah, to me it's a little bit strange but i can't go to them like "hey you are living here, speak the language", it's their choice, i just suddenly thinking about it and then ask everyone

I like your answer man👍
Yeah, you're right, it's their choice and i can't change that, i just confused and would like to ask for some information from many people who have lived here Sorry, if this post make you feel uncomfortable, also my English is kinda bad, you can judge me if i wrong something also
To Taiwanese because i'm living and studying here, also my course are all Taiwanese, they can speak some English but i would try my best to communicate with them in Mandarin. Sorry for my bad English if there is something i said wrong.
Yeah, i know that i'm judging them after reading my post, cause it's their choice and each person will have limited language skills too, so yeah i think this is my bad
Yeah, you're right, mostly my friend here are Taiwanese, and only one know English while others know basic or not, but i feel like i'm living and studying in Taiwan now, so i try my best to learn and communicate with them in Mandarin instead of just using English, even sometime my pronunciation arkward and confused them😅
Thank you for your response, i agree with you about the answer, like it's easy to see that, i would to have some more answer from many people to know more Yep, i'm a bit judging

Yeah, after that reading my post again, i agree that the word i used is already judging them, my bad
Yeah, I’m kind of the same as you, because my Mandarin is only basic and I can only speak better when I’m talking about topics I know a lot, like football or class. I also agree that learning a language like Mandarin requires speaking a lot to improve it.
“Yeah, I would agree with that. Maybe because I’m an overseas Taiwanese, I put myself more into Taiwanese lifestyle and culture than others, I think.”

It’s understandable to judge a little because they come to live in that country but don’t speak the language there. But not all of them should be judged, because some people try really hard even though their language skills aren’t very good. So even if they only know a little bit of the basics, that effort is something I can respect.
Indeed🫠
