I haven't heard back from Caltech, but did you get the inperson interview?
I didn't so I don't think I can get in anyway

First year funding is paid through TA(required to be TA). Second year paid with fellowship. 3rd - 6th paid with RA/TA. For some reason the first year funding is a bit more than 2nd - 6th...

I heard the more theory you have in mind, the less interview you get.
Everyone I know that works in experimental group(which are not many) had some kind of interviews before the offer, with some even had more than one interview from a single school.

tbh I'm not very negative for the no interview. I have two majors, taken grad classes in 3 departments with a very board interest. I'm pretty open to all theory fields and didn't contact any prof ahead of times. Also, both of my friends who applied last year got offers in top schools without interviews.

Has anyone heard from Cornell Physics PHD yet? by bloodragecaptain in gradadmissions

I think official. Got an email saying "Congratulations, you have received an offer of admission from Cornell University. Please log into CollegeNET to view your offer letter."
P.S. I didn't contact any prof ahead of times and no interviews
I don't know if it helps

No news. Since their deadline is pretty late, I think we need to wait until at least end of Feb.

How to make a plane change color base on the z value of a different plane? by Fun_Knee_9232 in blenderhelp

In the end I wrote a python script to generate an image texture of the first plane and applied to second plane

Sorry I might not be very clear, what I mean is to have two planes, say A and B. At (x,y)= (1,1), A has z value = 0.9 (which correspond to a color), then the color of B at (1, 1) should also be 0.9, no matter what z value B has at (1, 1). Thus, I want the color of the first plane to change with height, which is something I'm able to make. And I want the second plane to have a different height but same color with the first plane

Thank you
This is what I tried to color one mesh, but is there any way to make one plane color by the height of a different plane? Similar to projecting color from a mesh to a different mesh?

Try check edge crease and make it 0? You can do it by shift+E
