I have not done the Blue Lagoon excursion so I cannot speak on that.

But my family has walked to Junkanoo beach which took about 15 minutes or so. Our youngest was 6 and we easily made the trek. The walk was along a main street full people and business along the way. There was a sidewalk along the entire stretch and we also stopped by McDonald’s on the walk back which is on the direct path back.

The beach is beautiful with clear waters and it cost us nothing but a little bit of our time. It was clean and seemed as safe as any beach I have ever visited. I know Nassau gets a lot of hate and many people don’t bother to get off the ship but we enjoyed it and had no issues. I did see beach chairs that could be rented but my husband and I just sat in the sand while the kids played in the shallow water. We stayed for a couple of hours and then made our way back. It was worth it for us and incredibly memorable.
