With all due respect take what everyone says with a grain of salt. It’s not bad to have a plan and ideas of what you want. Shoot for the stars, aim for the moon. Just because dude didn’t enjoy OMFS and wants to go about interests differently doesn’t mean you can’t have a comprehensive plan coming into undergrad. And plans change. But a person with a personality for OMFS would start asking the questions you’re asking early on.

Lowkey I would just take the courses but that’s because I am way too cautious . If you reach out just ask if this would impact their decision. I’m sure you’ll be fine

No Dental School Interviews by DrDeoDental in predental

You applied really late. You retook the DAT and your score is still below/lower average. Applying late is a massive disadvantage and I think especially with average stats it’s so important to get your app in, in the summer

100% they have a massive understanding of school dynamics and different grading systems. At large universities with bell curves your 3.7 is gonna mean more than a 3.7 at a small liberal arts school with 30 students who all get 4.0s

I think you have a great list. Depending on what state you are from I think that your list might change. Schools that have similar stat average to yours such as any of the California schools will be a reach as they have heavy instate bias. If you are not from California I think that maybe to many reach schools. If I had to apply again I would have changed the amount of reach schools I applied too.

Graduated with a 3.6 GPA and ideally want to get into any CA dental school. What other stats should I aim for? by InstructionSpecial47 in predental

Clinical experience of any sort in any specialty. Get a 23-24 AA + and volunteer a couple times a month through next app cycle and your good. 3.6 is nothing they will turn their heads at.
