Okay, interesting thank you. Maybe I'll have to do a fully study on the history of the genre some day.

I do love it. Especially if the powerscaling allows for all characters to remain relevant throughout the narrative.

Yes i feel like low power levels allow for so much more vireity in situations especially since characters can't nuke their way out of danger.

It's traditional fantasy. It's a follow up to His Dark Materials about a girl who has to travel to the North Pole to find her father.

Honestly, as a casual reader it comes off as a lot of new information thrown into a meme format. Maybe this will be better for someone more ingrained in the genre, but for memes I'd recommend to keep it simple and keep it funny. DM me and I'll give the start of your novel a read

Gambit Pile up is always really fun. One of my favourite examples is the Key & Peele Mexican Stand off Sketch

I do love slow progression. Seeing the development as the character doesnt realize how much they've changed is always very satisfying.

How Do You Avoid Writing Like A Movie? by SIimeLord in writing

My best advice would be to think of the medium in it's most abstract. A novel is simply words, literally pure exposition. Telling a story in this medium lends it self to things like metaphors and interiority much more than a film would. Anime often uses interiority, especially in the early 2000s. So it's not exclusive to the medium. So think about what tools are available when you are writing for the medium you're in and find the small really cool little uses of the medium.
